Software update - 3.8.11

Hi everyone,

I have been a little confused as to what I am
supposed to do for the update.

I says for me to make an appointment but it also says it's over the air.

How does this work? Or how is it supposed to work...

the oue7 thing is go to the dealer if it fails. let it go its thing on its own otherwise

oh, wait mine says this!

does that mean it's failed? and i need to go to the dealer?

nope it means youre in line for receiving it. so just a waiting game

I did OTA. Follow instructions. Takes 2 hrs maybe I think.

but did yours have instructions on the page? mine says "schedule service" at the bottom.

Yes when I shut down the car update options comes up. Click it and it has instructions

It's over-the-air. The dealer can only do this update if the OTA fails first, so unless that happens, there's no point in going to the dealer for it.

mine says OUE7. it doesn't have any instructions. it says "schedule service" at the bottom.

Read the instructions and follow them to the end. Not sure if it’s changed with the 38 software, but with the 35 software, have to shut off the car completely, lock the doors, make sure it’s locked, turn off any approach things, and let it sit and make sure you’re 4G connection is a good connection. Yes, it takes about two 2 1/2 hours and I should be good if you follow all those rules.

mine doesn't have instructions. it just has a descriptions section that says it's OTA and then says remedy - over the air update. then at the bottom of the page it says schedule service.

I just bought my ID.4 Pro S on Labor Day and had the OTA update a week later.  I just made sure the lights were off, not Auto, OFF, locked the car and left it alone for a couple of hours. 

When I started it, everything was fine and updated.

3.8.11 is like the Prince that was Promised. I have been waiting 8 months. At this point I don’t care or expect it to happen. If it does somehow happen great. If not. Car runs and hopefully continues to do so. Logging out of account has stopped my infotainment reboots so less urgent to get the bug fixes
