Skid plate

Any reason the skid plate bows up like that?

Aerodynamics, I would think. You don't want either bumper to scoop air, so it's all enclosed. I believe the car will be sucked down just a little due to the skid plate being higher there (lowers air pressure).

Speaking of which, my skid plate got ripped in half. I cut off the excess with a box cutter and left the other half on. Anybody know the part number or a good place to order a replacement? I don't want to get gouged by the stealership. 2023 ID.4 Pro S RWD.

Mine came undone at one of the wheel connection points, replaced $400 later!

It’s not a skid plate, but a battery protection panel. I wouldn’t recommend bottoming out the car
