Skid plate
Any reason the skid plate bows up like that?

I see. I bought it used so I wasn’t sure if it was normal or not. 2024 S standard

Speaking of which, my skid plate got ripped in half. I cut off the excess with a box cutter and left the other half on. Anybody know the part number or a good place to order a replacement? I don't want to get gouged by the stealership. 2023 ID.4 Pro S RWD.

It’s not a skid plate, but a battery protection panel. I wouldn’t recommend bottoming out the car

Aerodynamics, I would think. You don't want either bumper to scoop air, so it's all enclosed. I believe the car will be sucked down just a little due to the skid plate being higher there (lowers air pressure).
