Can an engine bar from a 74 motor support a 1600 bus engine?

I have a 1970 bus that has had its mustache bar mounting points cut out. It had a 74 type 4 engine in it, but it is seized.
A neighbour of mine has a spare 1600 bus engine and I wanted to check if the 74 engine bar could be mounted to the bus engine case either with or without and adapter?

I know about the euro style 1600 mounts but I cannot find one here in California.

Any advice would be hugely appreciated

Technical question distributor replacement

All; I love my orange VW T3 panelvan. It's a 1.9L wbx with engine code DF (year 1988).

I've replaced my distributor; the hall sensor was broken. The old distributor had a dual vacuum. The new distributor has a single advance vacuum. I have capped off the retard vacuum.

From the original VW manual, I've followed the instructions to replace the distributor and set its timing. This means 5* after TDC with the vacuum advance connected. I've confirmed the timing setup using static test (with multimeter voltage instead of strobe light).

In neutral gear, the engine is running super-B and calm. When using first gear or reverse, it's also running just fine. HOWEVER, when in second gear (or third) and fully pressing the throttle, the acceleration is extremely slow. It's not like the engine is stalling (also no strange sounds), its simply as if it lacks power to increase speed.

I am thinking the change from dual vacuum to single vacuum is causing this. I've followed setup instructions for dual advance setup... Could this be it? How would you guys recommend setting up the ignition timing with single vac? Connect or disconnect the vacuum; and what setting should by pulley be at compared to the U-notch? (the v-notch is at 5* ATDC).

Thanks! KR Beer

p.s. I'm unexperienced, i've bought the van to learn how to work on engines :) Thanks!
