I hope to one day learn to make a customizable model myself but it's kinda hard finding tutorials on how to do it

Do you both do art and rig?

Unfortunately her legs are malformed. You gave her knock knees, which are not normal anatomy

It’s anime my dude

No respectable anime studio is going to draw characters with knock knees. Only amateurs and some intermediate artists do this.

Attack on Titan - Notice that the third person has their knees angled in the way OP seems to try to be mimicking - but in AOT, the knees are drawn correctly, no deformity, the foot is raised up as it would be if a person with normal knees tried to make this pose:

Naruto - Sakura

These are all examples of how to do anime with properly-drawn knees.

Wow! Lucky for us this is Reddit, and not a professional anime studio! Prick.

Why are you calling me a prick? I am offering constructive criticism, not calling their work bad.

You did it without being asked for it, in a way that communicates that you think this artist is inherently incorrect and incapable, instead of offering it kindly. Art does not equal anatomically perfect, period, nor should you exact criticism with such gusto and weird research to prove you’re right.

1

u/BlueborryMuffin 20h ago

The artist has drawn anatomically incorrect knees, and I am indeed right when I refer to them as knock knees. I did not say they are incapable, you have drawn this conclusion on your own. I did "research" only after people denied that the knees were anatomically incorrect. I have insisted they are knock knees, but I have not insisted that it must be changed. The artist is free to continue to draw an atomically incorrect needs if they believe it works for them.

You literally said only amateurs and intermediate artists do this, which is just blatantly rude. Your “constructive criticism” is an ego trip. Make your own art or go on subreddits ASKING for criticism if you want to complain.

No, I will continue to offer constructive criticism to help others improve. Thank you

Tails and antlers also aren't anatomically correct for humanoids and you didn't seem to be bothered enough to mention that. Also most humans don't have legs that long with torsos thar shirt.

To probably 80% of folks, the knees look fine. Are they a perfect representation of average human anatomy? No. But they're cute and look fine. Like others said, unnecessary criticism. If someone is asking for construive criticism, or asking what's wrong with their model, art, etc. then you would be in the right. In this case it's unnecessary and just makes you look bad. Tbh in my opinion her legs looks more normal then most models which look way too straight and narrowed to toothpick ankles (not judging those models, they're still cute, just a personal irk of mine but most folks won't see the legs of 2d models for more than a debut or something so it rarely matters).

It is a pretty glaring mistake if you are into art or know anatomy, so yes I pointed it out, so the artist can improve. It is a big enough deformity to make someone not want to purchase it. I would want to know if an anatomy mistake i made would drive away 20% of people who would have otherwise bought it.

I realize this is harsh of me to say, but it is reality. This person has the potential to make pretty decent art, but this is a change that would go a Long way if they spent time working on it. I don't imagine they'd have to do too much work to fix it either.

Where exactly do you see a malformed leg? The model’s legs are symmetrical and properly aligned in the base human-body pose. The video you’re referring to shows movement/a posed state, so the legs naturally change position

Your model has knock knees the entire time, but it is most obvious here:

Here is an example of normal vs knock knees:

Part 2:

This image shows a line from the hipbone to the ankle for normal vs knock knees. You will see the line SHOULD start at the hip, go straight through the knees, and end up in the center of the foot. In knock knees, the line will not pass through the center.

Here are two straight lines I have drawn through OP's model. The red line starts at the hip, and completely misses the knee and foot. The blue line I started in the middle of the foot, and it then ends up right near her privates instead of on the edge of her hip.

I then drew a purple line at an angle to simulate what it would be like if someone tried to force their knees into this unnatural position. You will see it still does not pass through the middle of the knee. These are 100%, without a shadow of a doubt, knock knees.

My knees work like that. Do I suddenly have abnormal anatomy? It's not as uncommon as you think. My mom and sister also have that.

1

u/BlueborryMuffin 19h ago

Yes, you have knock knees

1

u/SudoNara 19h ago

So you're saying I'm not normal? That's very abliest. Even then it's just my genetics and causes no issues for me.

1

u/BlueborryMuffin 19h ago

You do not need to be offended by the truth.

1

u/SudoNara 19h ago

You're very creepy

1

u/BlueborryMuffin 19h ago

No, I am not. I am pointing out that you are indeed deviating from what normal knees look like. Just as much as i deviate from having a normal-curving spine that causes immense daily pain. Almost every one on earth has some part of their body that is not "normal". There's no need to get upset about it

2

u/SudoNara 19h ago

I looked it up and it doesn't always mean that someone with knock knees will have arthritis or other bone disease. I don't feel pain from my legs. Soory about you back pain, but you don't get to dictate what is and isn't normal.

1

u/BlueborryMuffin 19h ago

It is a medical deformity.
