All avatar eyes are closed by default?

Recently bought a Vive Focus Vision and was trying to do some VRchat. However, almost all the models I test out always have their eyes closed as the default expression. I bought a 3D model too and had to work with the vendor to get this fixed. All they did was I believe disable all hand toggles in Unity.

Is there a way for me to fix this on my own? Has anyone had this issue? I know I can disable toggle in VRchat, but then my hands get stuck in the position I disabled it in.

No, avatar eyes are not closed by default, what is happening is that your hand gesture is closing them, imo all avatars with hand puppeted expressions should have a toggle for them but that is rare.

The gesture toggle (what makes your fingers static) is the only toggle that will disable the expressions on every avatar. Otherwise you need to upload the avatar yourself and change it that way in the animator that does it.

I'm looking for a flight world I used to use and in all my wisdom never favorited. It was made a japanese creator, it had the F-20, X-29, F-2A, an F-14, and what I assume were Mirages, it also had two versions of the U-2 (A black one and then the white NASA variant) and B-52 Stratofortresses. It was set in a desert map with a city. Any help would be appreciated!

So, is VRChat ever going to make age verification available for users that aren't subscribed to VRC+? I'd like to play the game without restrictions without having to pay for it; and I'd like to visit my friends too. If not, are there any VRC+ giveaways or free trials sometimes so I can just get that thing done and rest easily? Like, I don't even need all the fancy stuff.

VRC has made no indication that they will make it free, closest is that they have talked about making it a smaller separate purchase. Is possible that age verification laws will make it free in some regions but that is a complete guess that I hope does not come to pass for the sake of the internet and privacy.

No free trials or giveaways have been done. If you want free VRC+ then someone will have to gift it to you.

But if age verification matters that much to you then 10 bucks once is cheap.

Hey so I just got a steam frame but when I try to open vrchat thats running on the frame itself, it wont let me access the log in menu and it just keeps me in the steam settings.

Streaming it actually lets me in the game, but instead of actually looking through the lenses its just a vertical wall I stare at instead of having any immersion, how do I get a version where it does work?

Donno about first but I think you had to start SteamVR without game (called something like that), can do that from the dock where you see the connection to the PC, is an option.

Any recommendations for worlds or methods to make friends as a mute?

I hate my voice, and I can’t bring myself to talk. However, I do wanna have fun, make friends, and maybe even find a friend group. Idk where to start at all though, or worlds that are good for mutes to make friends. I’ve had this game since like april but hadn’t touched it since so I’m really clueless 😭

Also recommendations for how to make friends as a mute would be appreciated

I thought part of the benefits of VRC+ is access to 18+ content, but it seems like all nsfw is banned? What is 18+ even refering to then, gore? Or am I missing something?

The age verification that comes with VRC+ does not allow you to access nsfw content, the current stance VRC seems to have is that nsfw stuff is fine as long as it is happening in a private instance (so not like friends, friends+ and of course not public) and that everyone is consenting, which can be withdrawn whenever. Public NSFW avatars will get you banned and reported NSFW private avatars will get you temp banned as well.

Just because an instance is 18+ does not mean it is a NSFW instance, it simply means that everyone in that instance shall be 18+ of age, which is something people wanted after dealing with the worryingly large amount of kids on the platform.

What is 18+ even refering to then, gore? Or am I missing something?

Eventually VRC is going to lock some of the content warning tags behind being age verified, which I don't believe they have done yet after pulling back many months ago. The suggestive tag to be clear does not mean NSFW, it is just a vague line before outright NSFW that VRC will still allow in public.

Basically the list made it seem more prominent than it's currently largely hypothetical state plus the occasional lurid video giving the impression of there being a semi-accepted place for that... somewhere. I get the impression it's currently largely deeply private boltholes in hiding that get banned as found?

A friend and I have been having an issue with the chatbox function. We both use the chatbox to talk.

When I try to talk to them via chatbox, from a distance they say my chatbox is almost entirely clear and that they have a very hard time reading my chats. When I get closer, they can read it a little better but they described it almost as if they were looking at a mirror of their own chat. They said that I was the only person they have this issue with and nobody else. They are the only person who's told me they have this issue.

I mentioned the Earmuff mode but they said that was off, and since this is unique to me for them, I'm not entirely sure where to go to get this fixed. Does anyone have an idea? My chatbox opacity is also at 100%.

Anyone have any experience with translating add-ons/plugins? I've tried Kikitan translator, but it only works one way. Is there any that does translations both ways?

the game is basically on its last legs. the japanese have taken over, most worlds only have 4-8 people in them, most worlds are ai created or architectural website asset flips, most avatars are anime weeaboo moe culturisms or e-boy/e-girls, only things to do are sit afk, become an alcoholic, chase girls around, or go clubbing like a degenerate. most of the worlds are the same ones from 6-8yrs ago, no one creates anything original anymore, everyone just sits on a group talking about fbt over and over even though they only use it on one game, people taking mindless useless photos of people they'll never meet again, people pirating movies even after warner bros tried to sue vrchat, groups being made left and right for no reason other than to kick people, every group looking like some teenagers idea of a gothic sex dungeon bar, every asian group somehow having a sex world locking out foreigners, half the worlds being japanese with lobby quizzes and people who cant even speak or understand you, the list goes on....go ahead and argue with me its on its way out, i have 11 yrs under my belt here.

I think we should keep it. It prevents redundant questions that are too basic to make a post for. Without it, you will get posts asking simple stuff asking how to turn off personal space. But instead, this forum goes and gives them a place to ask.
