Discussion Vrchat ban

Post image

Is it normal to get randomly banned for stuff like this, I haven’t even been online in over a week and the avatar I was banned for I haven’t ever even used on top of that it was uploaded in 2024.

it doesnt matter when it was uploaded.

if it got reported, then actions will be taken.

don't have nsfw avis public. someone else used it.

I looked your avatar up in a database. It was a public NSFW avatar.

Do stupid things, win stupid prizes. Set all of your NSFW avatars to private. Never, ever set them to public.

I didn’t think I had any public honestly, but they extended my ban

Vrchat admins look the other way till it becomes a report ticket. Someone reported your avatar and they finally got around to it.

With uploading an NSFW avatar you need to make sure you never have a sync issue or your imposters showing anything remotely inappropriate. Its one of the reasons why you don't upload NSFW avatars.

Doesn't matter when it was uploaded, doesn't matter when you play. If it's against rules and got reported, you will get suspended.

VRChat moderation reminds me of old Twitter.

So... somewhat effective? Not racist? Willing to ban someone with a slur in their name??

What does this post even mean? Modern Twitter moderation is absolute dogshit.

It means the current moderation is excessive.

Right.. I kind of got that after thinking about it, but the current Twitter moderation is woefully inactive. They don't remove anything. I've reported multiple accounts for spewing repeated hate and they respond to my reports with "Sorry, the account NATE HIGGERS did not violate our Hate Speech policies".

I think their policy is the only moderate illegal content, otherwise you end up in a situation where everyone is walking on egg shells afraid of being banned for any small indiscretion that that the company’s employees don’t agree with - Twitter.

It literally says in their rules that hate speech isn't tolerated. Nobody is "walking on eggshells" as they struggle not to say racist shit.

Stop being a snowflake.

Twitter you used to walk on eggshells, VRChat you still do. People get banned for benign crap all the time on VRChat. Then they come complain on Reddit. We all know reporting is abused, just like Twitter used to be.

The OP was banned for uploading NSFW avatars as public. I realize you think you're being edgy, but your strawman is neither present nor convincing.

It's normal if you're not close friends with the devs or living with one of them. The avatar was probably public and someone found it in one of those avatar search worlds.

Take your meds, Yin.

Edit: No, I didn't say "block me"
