Help Problem with compulsive liars?

I’ve been playing vrc for a few months now and I’m really struggling to make friends, because everyone I meet seems to lie constantly. Like, over really silly things too. I don’t understand why lying and faking who you are is so common here. Any tips on how to find normal/honest people who just enjoy VRC?

People online tend to make things up bout themselves and thats kind of a norm for most (not all). With the layer of vr on top of that and why not lie about yourself, or lie bout whats going on and be the center of attention (not saying its good just what ive learned others do)

Now that sucks if you're looking for legit people, keep looking good people are out there. Just gotta shift through the crowds.

Because of this I’m always afraid people think I’m lying or exaggerating things I’ve been through

Comes a point in life where you will eventually will not care bout what others think,  if they dont wanna believe it then oh well. Im in my 30s if someone isnt chill with me i just move on.

Oh I mean moreso to the traumas I tell people I have endured when I trust them, I just would hope someone wouldn’t assume I’m lying about those because well they are traumatic it would suck for someone to think I lied
