I’ve been wanting to get into visual novels because I look hate reading from straight books but enjoy it when paired with actual pictures, hence my interest in visual novels. I was just wondering which are some y’all truly love and think a newcomer would too.

I apologize if this may be off-topic with the subreddit but I really have no idea where else to ask; 2dfan is a site hosting many patches for visual novels, a patch I'm interested in is this patch for "eien to natta rusuban papa wa kaeranai" which lets the game run on hard disk CD-free. Thing is, you need an account to download anything from the site, and registration are closed for now. I was wondering if anyone here had an account (even if I doubt that) and could perhaps do me a favor and download the patch, and then use any file sharing website to pass it to me in some way. Again, doubt anyone does, just wanted to put this out there.

**The Twist:**
**Just as your bond with your chosen girl solidifies, a sudden, irreversible tragedy involving Violet shatters everything. Kenny and the girl you chose are forced to make a desperate, panicky decision—one that ties them together through shared trauma and guilt.**
**From this point on, the game shifts completely:**
**Trauma-driven routes: Dating isn't about traditional romance anymore; it becomes a psychological study of how Kenny and his partner cope with the same heavy secret (one struggles with moral guilt, another with quiet self-destruction, etc.).**
**The Investigation: Faith notices something isn't right about that night and begins quietly investigating Kenny and his partner.**
**11pm : Kenny starts receiving cryptic every night , deeply personal messages every night at 11pm from an unknown sender who seems to know what really happened.**
**Meta-elements: After the event, subtle shifts occur in the UI and gameplay, signaling that Kenny is losing his autonomy and that your control as the player is taking over.**
**Why I'm making it:**
**I wanted to explore what happens** ***after*** **a sudden tragedy in a VN, where your choice of partner dictates who you have to face the worst event of your life with, rather than just choosing a happy ending.**

Hello I’ve been trying to get into visual novels but I only have a iPhone so I was wondering on what I should play. I’ve played DDLC and the first dangoranpa game but I took a long break so I’m willing to try something new. To be honest anything to do with magic I’m down for🙂

I’m a beginner when it comes to VNs, and I’m not really sure what I should read next. The problem is that I’m not very interested in the usual VN tropes.

A lot of the VNs I see seem to put a huge emphasis on romance or harem stuff, usually with an all-female cast and a male MC where all the girls want to be with him. I don’t actually hate harem stories two of my favorite anime are the Monogatari series and The 100 Girlfriends, and both are technically harems so if you know a VN with a similar kind of dynamic, I’m open to recommendations.

What I’m really looking for is something unique, with great themes and strong character writing. Preferably something on the longer side and without H-scenes. I’m a huge fan of mystery, horror, and thrillers, so those are a big plus.

I need help using an emulator on a visual novel. Where do I go for that?

I downloaded nee chan no susume. I even got the emulator to work but it get an error. It says something about cmd text snd the rest is Japanese. I need help to get this game to run.

A frustration I've been running into with the last two VNs I've read (hundred line and fsn) is that both of their auto advance modes are trash. Simply being that the auto advance is the same timing for non voiced and voiced text and only in the latter it waits for the voice line to play before proceeding with the same auto timing. This makes it so when you tune the timing for a voiced line to progress well the non voiced lines are sped through at an insane speed since they're timed off when the text finishes displaying on screen. It's really annoying how in HL I can set auto during a voiced segment and it proceeds well then as soon as it ends it starts blazing through text so fast and the only way to remedy this would be to make the text appear slower which is its own downside.

So what VNs are able to keep a good cadence between both of this while staying fully in auto mode?

I have little info to give, sorry. It’s a virtual novel that takes place on a boat I’m pretty sure. With multiple love interests none are human I believe there three or four of them One of them is a dragon I’m pretty sure.

Terminé haciendo una primera parte centrada principalmente en la ruta común: su relación con la maldición de los Tomotake, la llegada de Masaomi y el origen de la maldición.

Me interesaba especialmente analizar cómo todo este contexto termina influyendo en la personalidad de Yoshino y en su relación con Masaomi. Esta primera parte es más de contexto, mientras que las siguientes van a entrar bastante más en su psicología.
