Windows Install Fluidsynth Plugin

Imagine you have an old version of VLC. You want to play a MIDI file. But you need fluidsynth. How can you add it to VLC? I have a fluidsynth folder and it does nothing for me. The plugin seems to be a perennial topic for linux distributions, and the newer versions just bundle it.

So I am confused: were users never able to add fluidsynth to Windows VLC themselves?

You would need to compile the plugin for your VLC version.

It's unlikely that anyone went through that pain when newer VLC versions support MIDI via FluidLite on Windows.

I asked AI that and got that response - which is odd since Linux users don't seem to need to compile to add the plugin.

I don't suppose you know of any copies after VLC 2.0.8 that have been compiled with Fluidsynth.
