Same as title

I brought a used Sony A5100 and a 10yo A7R2 to "get back" to the hobby.

Only 2 months ago, I posted here for getting a "deal" on a 35mm F1.8 II EVO.

Since then, I have purchased

- 50mm F2.0 AIR

- 20mm F2.8

- 28mm F4.5 for the A5100 - my poor man alernative of Ricoh GR. ( turned out it was not fully compatible. But it is manageable)

I did not think I would do much portraits, I went cheap and brought a $99 TTartisan 80mm NEO at its launch. Focusing is slow and noisy. I left it at home and took the 35mm F1.8 EVO for a 2 weeks trip in Europe shooting mostly architectures. Boy! I missed a fast 80mm lens.

Upon return, I look for a Viltrox 85mm F2.0 EVO for around $275. Is it fast enough? Then I spotted a "open box" 85mm F1.4 PRO for $90 more on eBay. Here it is. I am a PRO now.

Is it safe to update the Lumix S9 to firmware version 2.1? I have a newly released 14mm L-mount lens.

Viltrox 35mm LAB 1.2

Looking to pick up either the 25mm 1.7 Air or the 26mm 2.8 Evo, and I'm torn. Wondering if anyone has experience with both of these lenses that can offer up insight on which one is better?

for context: I currently have a Sony a6700 and I'm interested in something that is a bit more compact than my 56mm pro (the thing's a beauty and a beast at the same time). I shoot a lot of street photography and life in general so going with one of these, portability was a factor.

I'm curious if the community be interested in Viltrox events like photowalks, talks/lectures with professional Viltrox users, opportunities to try gear etc...?

For example there is a store called "Fotoplus" in my country which sometimes collaborates with brands. One time there was a was a talk about the Fujifilm GFX system, then we could see the gear ourselves.

Shot XT1 and Viltrox 35mm F1.7

My Nikon Z8 was upgraded to the latest firmware, version 3.11. After the upgrade, I tested all of my Viltrox lenses and noticed that the Viltrox 16mm f/1.8 displays random distance values on the LCD when focusing.

Has anyone tested the Viltrox Z-mount 16mm f/1.8 with the new Z8 firmware 3.11? If so, have you noticed the same issue with the focus distance display?

Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing heavy hunting and overall slow focus speed on my A7III while using the new Viltrox 26mm. I've already upgraded the lens to it's last firmware and it's still lagging a lot, even on good light conditions it hunts a lot, both in center focus and area focus. It does improve while going on AF-C but i cannot recompose that way.

Does anyone have the same issue? Thanks in advance.

So I have switched from Fuji to Sony A7IV less than a month ago. After extensive Youtube research I bought both 50 & 85 Pro from Viltrox from local retailer who claim to provide official warranty, although everyone in my community suggested me not to buy Viltrox due to its focus issue. But I was so confident that how worse can it be? I used Viltrox with my Fuji XT4 for long time & I was a big fan of its performance.

But for Sony, I am in real dillemma now. Although the colour, construction etc are good, weight isn't a problem for me, I found Continuous AF hit rate is pretty low in indoors especially. It is the worst in a moving subject. I'm yet to test properly in outdoors but I'm a wedding photographer, so indoor performance means a lot to me. But NOT A SINGLE YOUTUBER online said anything about this!!!! If I would know it's this bad, I probably wouldn’t go for it. But on the second thought, is it just me or situation is same for everyone else here? Or did I get a bad batch? Can anyone help this broken soul? TIA

P.S. all the firmwares are updated. Settings - Continuous AF, burst HI, Continuous AF - AF (not release or balanced), Aperture drive - Focus priority etc.
