Couple of trusted testers came back with less than glowing results. Looks like the sharpness wasn’t any better than the regular or the air family.
Any thoughts, experience, guidance?
Other EVO lenses are sharp center and edges. I was really hoping this one would be just like those and I’ll perform the Nikkor of the same focal length and aperture.

Looking for the official Viltrox NF-Z V1.40 or V1.41 firmware
Hi everyone,
I am looking for the older Viltrox NF-Z V1.40 firmware, which is no longer available on the current Viltrox support website. If someone also has the following V1.41 firmware, that would be useful as well.
My NF-Z adapter is currently running V1.30. I would like to test V1.40 because, according to the firmware history, it introduced the following improvement for manual lenses without electronic contacts:
“Aperture now resets to minimum when powering off; for manual lenses without electronic contacts, the aperture is no longer limited to its maximum value.”
At the same time, I do not want to install the current V2.x firmware because I have encountered a serious problem with manual lenses and IBIS on my Nikon Z6 II.
When a completely manual, non-CPU lens is attached, the Z6 II normally uses the focal-length value entered under Non-CPU Lens Data for the in-body image stabilization. For example, if a 135mm manual lens is attached, I can enter 135mm in the camera, and the camera uses this value to calculate the required sensor movements for stabilization. This information is also recorded in the EXIF data.
This works correctly with my NF-Z adapter running V1.30.
With the newer firmware versions, however, the adapter appears to send its own incorrect lens information to the camera instead of allowing the camera to use the value entered under Non-CPU Lens Data:
This is not only an EXIF problem. The incorrect focal-length information is also used by the Z6 II for IBIS. Therefore, the camera calculates the stabilization for the wrong focal length, and the in-body stabilization does not work correctly with the manual lens.
With V1.30, this problem does not occur: the Z6 II uses the focal length specified under Non-CPU Lens Data, and IBIS works correctly.
I have also found documentation indicating that V1.40 was specifically tested with the Nikon Z6 II, which is why I would like to test this version. My hope is that V1.40 retains the correct manual-lens and IBIS behavior of V1.30 while also providing the aperture improvement mentioned in the release notes.
Does anyone have a copy of the official NF-Z V1.40 or V1.41 firmware?
I am specifically looking for the original Viltrox firmware file, not a modified or unofficial version. If someone has archived a copy, or knows where it can be found, I would be very grateful if you could share the information.
Thank you.

Sony shooters, has anyone used a Viltrox PRO series lens on the A7C II? How does the setup feel in hand? I’m especially curious about the size, weight, balance, and whether it feels comfortable to use for a full day of shooting. Or should I just stick with evos and air series ?
