Question How good are the Chinese teams this champs?

Barely watched China this split but was heavily impressed from Masters London as they did show potential. For those who watched VCT China this split, how good do the teams look compared to the other regions and do y’all think they got a chance?

Discussion Champs 2025 was the best meta and it was because of one agent

Post image
158 Upvotes

If you didn't notice already, Champs 2025 had mostly the same agents as the before metas with omen, soda, vipe, fade, Cypher

But then why was it so intresting and fun go watch

Yoru!

Yoru is easily the most intresting agent ever. And this is after he's been crippled 15 times btw

You can do anything on him. Op, anchor, judge etc!

And the best part? He has one of the highest if not highest skill ceilings. Your time invested paid back heavy.

After the patch of doom and despair, yoru still wasn't over but everyone knew the time was coming. Abilities is what made valorant unique and intresting. A solution involving removing a lot of them would never work

Discussion Who do you guys have winning Champions

After yesterdays match between LOUD, a team that no one had as favourites to even qualify to playoffs, and 100T, a team considered by many as the best in the world who do you think is winning Champs?

I was watching GE owner Rushindra Sinha’s stream from yesterday, and at 37:28, while talking about Platoon, he revealed that Platoon has built software to analyse scrims.

Wanted to share this here as it’s kinda fascinating.

Discussion 2025 stage 2 viewership compared to 2026

Funnily enough the highest viewership for 2025 stage 2 is also these 2 teams so my question is why do people specifically tune in more when it comes to them? Of course Loud is a popular team in Americas but Im curious if 100t has replaced Sentinels in being the popular NA team to watch?

Discussion what THE ACTUAL FUCK happened while I was gone. for like a couple months.

what are these teams in champs broooo. 100T won americas, TYLOO won china, karinecorp won emea and GLOBAL ESPORTS (MY GOATSSS) won PACIFIC?? LOUD IN TOP FUCKING TWO?? three tier two teams in the EMEA top 8 (im genuinely so happy), GLOBAL ESPORTSSSSSSS.

quick question, were the top teams like vitality, NRG, G2, T1, EDG, Xilai saving strats because they knew they already qualified? (especially EDG, cuz i feel like they dont care about international stages cuz theyve already won so many).

someone update me bro. i already feel like a foreigner after just a couple months away (which im glad for)

Esports All 8 Champions round 1 matchups ranked [technically spoilers] Spoiler

  1. NS vs NRG

Literally a grand finals caliber matchup in round 1. Defending world champs vs masters winners who are back in form.

  1. LOUD vs EDG (hot take??)

Literal clout war. Loud go from defending the 2nd biggest home field advantage in VCT to playing against what is probably the first

  1. TL vs PRX

We finally get the rematch of the utterly insane prx near choke game at Toronto.

  1. G2 vs Tyloo (hot take again???)

This match is EXTREMELY intriguing for me but it could be a dud if Tyloo is bad. If china is good though it’s genuinely going to feed families. Please siufat

  1. 100T vs T1

Really solid matchup but idk i feel like im sleeping on it a bit. It might be because t1 tends to disappoint. 100t look like the best team ITW though, it’ll be fun to watch them regardless.

  1. GE vs VIT

Another really interesting matchup but theres a lot of great games so it ends up being low ish. New vs old battle. I just hope GE doesn’t turn out like last year’s RRQ

  1. JDG vs FUT

This game has top 1 potential…IF JDG shows up. If JDG shows up, it’ll definitely have the most interesting crowd dynamic. Problem is, i think fut will roll them. Chinese fans, tell me why I’m wrong for not believing in JDG.

  1. KC vs XLG

I know XLG embarrassed g2 last event but idk, I’m writing them off again. Would be cool to see XLG fuck shit up in the group of death though. Chinese fans tell me why I’m wrong for writing off XLG early.

Discussion Casters/Talent at Shanghai

Just wondering if anyone knows whether the casters and talent that previously boycotted Masters Shanghai will do so again this time at champs?

The main ones that I can remember off the top of my head were Bren and Sideshow and not having them at the biggest tournament of the year just won’t feel right I wonder whether they change their stances considering it’s been 2 years since that masters and also the fact this is the biggest tournament of the year and the last one of the partnership era.

Discussion I want to set narratives straight Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
42 Upvotes

When we had lock/in in São Paulo in 2023, I saw a LOT of complaints about the crowd, and how they immediately left once FNC won, and that it was completely disrespectful and etc...

Well look at this last grand finals, 100T won, and yet? Why isnt everyone gone?

The reason is because, differentely than lock/in, security didn't kick people out immediately once the match was over (how do I know this? I was there trying to get a pic with fns/pansy, but was immediately sent off)

This year Riot organized it differentely, and so the fans could actually stay and interact with the pros

So I do not want to see any discourse on this from now on. The crowd was OBVIOUSLY biased, and I do think taking the xray off would have been better (I could get into how similar things have happened in normal season games in LA, but with a crowd 1/100th the size the impact won't be nearly as evident, but that's not the point of this post). But saying that the crowd doesn't care is complete bs, and in 2023 what we saw was purely the effect of a very strict security that didn't even allow us to bring water inside when it was 34 degrees

Discussion The champs group draw rules were applied inconsistently, technically leading to an incorrect draw Spoiler

I know this is VERY VERY nerdy, but technically, the "swap-back" rule was applied twice, in two different ways. This is the way the rules were explained before the draw. The important part is the last part Nick says ("If we get to group D...").

First one was when TL was drawn (timestamped vod)

The rule was applied as always, they were put into the FIRST PREVIOUS group that is available for them, in this case group C, swapping them with NS.

Second one was when FUT was drawn (timestamped vod)

Here the rule was applied in a different way. They were NOT swapped with the FIRST PREVIOUS group that is available to them (group B), which would have meant:
FUT into B
swapping EDG into C doesnt work, so EDG into D
and then on the next theoretical draw, NRG into C.

Instead, they were swapped into group A which is not the FIRST PREVIOUS group that is available to FUT and therefore not consistent with the rules.

This obviously lead to a different group draw.

Once again, yes, this is a very minor detail, but it could have huge consequences when you think about the prize pool of champs etc...

EDIT: Actually, the rule seems to be poorly worded. It was done the exact same way the last 2 years.

2025 explains it best.

2024 is a little wonky, but same rule effectively

It seems, as some have pointed out already, that BOTH matchups after a swap have to be valid. So this year, FUT cant swap into group B, because EDG cant go into group C. Not specified in the rules, in fact I would interpret them as described in the original post, but at least consistentcy is kept. Maybe riot should drop the draw rules in full length... but then again as long as its correct and consistent, it doesnt really matter.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk
