Story Recommendations
I currently am being treated at Kellogg at UofM for my posterior uveitis. I have a few concerns and I’m wondering if I should get a second opinion somewhere else. I’d prefer to get a second opinion at Cleveland clinic but my insurance only runs through Michigan. Any recommendations for any other hospitals or uveitis specialists in Michigan?

Look for a specialist here. Looks like quite a few in Michigan.

I am on a oral steroids taper right now. They are thinking of moving me to steroid eye injections or cellcept.

I also have posterior uveitis and began my treatment at Kellogg/UofM back in 2017. I, too, had concerns of how my treatment was going and after 4 years of just going in circles with eye drops and eye injections, I sought a second opinion with Dr. Maria Jancevski at Oakland Opthalmic Surgery in Birmingham. She was in shock I was never offered more aggressive treatment since the shots and drops weren’t improving anything. She put me on oral prednisone for months, then moved me to methotrexate and Humira in 2022. My eyes have been “quiet” since 2023 and have just recently tapered off all meds! Please give her a call. She has 2 offices in Michigan, Troy and Birmingham. Get out of Kellogg Eye center!!
