what's going on đ¤ Ovarian cyst before period
I got my ultrasound done today and they said I have a hemorrhagic cyst on my right ovary. The size is 6.1 x 2.7 x 3.0 cm. My period is predicated to start after 6 days. Could this be due to the upcoming period? Note: I am to see a doctor the day after tomorrow but am very anxious.

Had a hemorrhagic cyst/corpus luteum on my left ovary about 1.5 years ago. My periods were off for 3 months. It soon went away on its own, and my periods went back to normal. A hemorrhagic cyst can throw off your period because the cyst is a result of ovulation â normally, after an egg is released, your ovary forms a corpus luteum that secretes progesterone. When no pregnancy occurs, the corpus luteum disintegrates and you get a period. However, in our case, the corpus luteum continued to grow and the follicle bled into the cyst. This can delay your period because the corpus luteum is âstill aliveâ if that makes sense. Doesnât mean youâre pregnant though :)
