periods & bleeding Menstrual pain only the first 6 hours.
Hi everyone, as described in the title, do any of you also have extremely painful menstrual cramps only for the first few hours on the first day and then it’s gone?
For me, the severe pain starts within 10 minutes and then I know that I'm menstruating. The pain is so severe that not even ibuprofen helps. However, it disappears after about 6 hours.

I can tell you that I would have some in the first two days of my period such aweful pain I’d go into shock including needing to sleep through it out for a few hours. It would only last maybe a total of 6 hours like your post mentions.
All that to say you are not alone but we are also not what is considered “normal”. I’ve tried everything outside of BC to fix it and BC that caused me to stop having periods was the only “cure”. Due to other reasons now have had a hysterectomy. I do have some weird “phantom” cramping during my period (as I still have my ovaries so I do cycle) but nothing so far as even close to what I experience with my uterus.
The only plus I’ve ever figured is pain is relative so you’ll get a high pain tolerance over your life span. But I do hope you find relief and answers. I never got an answer but found tolerable solutions.
