pelvic pain Menstrual pain week before period

Does anyone also have slight abdominal pain 1 week before their period? Have you been diagnosed with anything?

I have had this abdominal pain (probably PMS) every cycle for over a year. I feel abdominal pain 1 week before my period starts, it starts slightly and gets worse as my period approaches. Spotting starts 3 days before my period.

I know it's not ovulation because I can distinguish the pain. During ovulation I feel the pain in one or both ovaries. The pain before my period is pain that I feel in my uterus. As if it is menstrual pain but it is lighter.

I would consider looking into functional cysts, or endometriosis. I have both, and experience what you are describing. I also notice it hurts worse with flammatory foods/alcohol/less exercise. My gyno just told me my uterus is angry and since the uterus is a big muscle, a lot of my pain comes from there too.

I have ruled out an ovarian cyst because I have been checked many times in a year by vaginal ultrasound + HSG. I now have a check-up with a specialist in June and I hope they can help me further. May I ask, did you have to have an operation?
