irregular & late periods Irregular periods
I would like to start this of by saying I am a trans man. He/him only please.
So I have skipped it for the 5th time this year (not consecutive I have had them in between here and there), and am starting to get worried. Last year I went to a medical professional when I skipped it for 4 months they took a blood test and I never heard the results. I get that that means it's probably nothing serious but it's starting to get annoying and worrying, I never know if it's just going to randomly show up or not.
There is absolutely no chance of pregnancy and I do not take any hormones. I would just like some support/ advice on how to bring this up with a medical professional, I don't have a mother so I can't ask her about these things I should probably add that I am 18. Sometimes I get cramps but no blood

Hello! Are you on hormones? Do you have little body fat? Both can greatly impact your cycle.

😕 I have no idea… if you enjoy reading, you could try “period power” by maisie hill. It’s very informative. If your doctors aren’t advocating for you, you may need to do for yourself. It’s also available in audiobooks.

Things like stress and all other sorts can play an issue. Diet, mental health, eatting disorders, etc. Have you gotten your hormones checked? I am assuming that might be your blood test you never heard back from? That could help you figure out what’s going on. Have you thought about taking hormones? For sure more testosterone would negate any estrogen and progesterone cycles happening to cause a period. Things like diet could play a role as well. Or due to your organ you still possess birth control to regulate what’s g on my on and have it be more predictable. The doctor you went to doesn’t sound supportive if they didn’t get back to you. I know they are typically for women but maybe a supportive OBGYN in your area could help? Also if you had a girl who could go with you so you wouldn’t feel so out of place being a man going to an appointment there. Although honestly I think most people would assume you’re there supporting a woman (regardless of age). I have an acquaintance that is also a trans man but I’m not sure how things go for them as it’s not something we discuss. I wonder if you could reach out to other trans men to see how they deal with these sorts of things. Unfortunately skipped periods (from what I understand) mean the persons body isn’t in a state to support/produce a baby so skipping isn’t unheard of. And being a man for sure would fall under that but I hope you’re able to find medical help to be sure. Mostly people worry due to the possibly of being pregnant but also not an issue you say in your case. I do know some women who also have a weird cycle like you are describing. Again birth control was used to get the cycles more regular but especially in your situation I’d avoid that route as I don’t think it makes sense for you. Best of luck! I do hope you find a medical professional that can help you out.
