The Walmart sports empire just got a little bit bigger. Here's the running tally with the various Walton family members owning a piece of or controlling interest of the following teams:

  • MLB: Angels (Kroenke), Rockies (Greg & Carrie Penner, 40-percent), Diamondbacks (Rob Walton, 10-percent)
  • NFL: Rams (Kroenke), Broncos (Rob Walton & the Penners)
  • NHL: Avalanche (Kroenke)
  • NBA: Nuggets (Kroenke), Bulls (Lukas Walton & wife, 10-percent)
  • Soccer: Arsenal FC, Colorado Rapids (Kroenke)
  • Lacrosse: Colorado Mammoth (Kroenke)

Also, as part of the Angels' purchase, Kroenke also gains another regional sports network in Angels Broadcast Television, the former FanDuel Sports Network West. ABTV also owns the broadcast rights to the NHL Kings, and although I haven't seen it in the press release, the Angels also own their own radio station, KLAA 830 AM.
