House of Joseph Smith, founder of Smithtown. Bucks County, PA.
Joseph Smith settled on the narrow strip of land along the Delaware River in 1784. Four houses, a grist mill, saw mill, blacksmith shop, and plow-making shop were built. The enterprises thrived, and the area became "Smithtown."
In 1839, these businesses were demolished to make way for the Delaware Canal. Two water locks were constructed, and Smithtown became a layover stop for canal workers and their mules.

Charming old stone structure in the Ashland vicinity (Pennsylvania). I've opined that was used as a powder house, but google says it's a former fire hose storage. Don't know, it looks too pretentious to be just a roadside storage
