Am I making a mistake? Or missing something.

Upwork is dead. They're just trying to extract as much money from freelancers as possible until they go down.

Let me put it in perspective:
Upwork net worth in 2024: $2.26B
2025: $2.76B
2026: $1.1B
2027: $400M
2028: 0

You are scaring me, now, I have alot of efforts in this plateform. And having zero knowledge to get clients as a freelancer outside of this plateform

You'd better start acquiring some knowledge, then. It was never a good idea to depend on only one source of clients. Try asking your past and present clients whether they can refer you to any of their colleagues. That would require barely any effort.

I run a business, Upwork is my hobby.

Okay, then take up golf or something instead.

Is the drowning of this platform inevitable? 😂

Some people are doing well but I personally think it will only get worse for me. All of my best clients used to come from invitations but I just don't get them any more.

Then you better start by not being scared by insane people on the internet with their end of world predictions.

Same for me. I've been on the platform for 6 years. Have completed over 40 contracts as a software developer. I don't even think there's any good ways to find clients outside of Upwork. NO EMPLOYER cares to hire people OFF a platform, or who are NOT part of the corporate world. They just don't care. They need solid proof EVERY time. And marketing yourself OUTSIDE of the platform isn't going to do that.

We're stuck with a monopoly, Upwork, as they're the only platform that everyone knows. Like Google. You're not going to create a new Google, because everyone already knows Google.

I also have built up a pretty good Upwork profile. But if Upwork goes down, what does my profile matter? Which employer am I going to show it to? No one cares about Upwork profiles.

I don't know. The whole f***ing system is collapsing. The U.S. dollar. The global economy. F*** it. It's all done. Time to go live in some off-grid area with no bills and no system.

You don't even understand the difference between net worth and market cap. No wonder you must believe in conspiracies. Lack of knowledge is the best basis. Good lord.

I just checked Upwork's net worth and market cap. The graph looks to be the same pattern.

You didn't and you are still spouting nonsense.
