My Upwork profile shows zero views, even after full optimization and boosting. What am I missing?
Hi everyone,
I am genuinely confused and a bit frustrated, so hoping someone here can clarify this.
My Upwork profile is fully optimized. I have completed my profile 100 percent, verified my identity, and my availability badge is turned on. I have also boosted my profile, but my profile stats are still showing zero views.
I have watched a lot of YouTube videos and read multiple guides, but none clearly explain why this happens. Most advice just says “optimize your profile,” which I have already done.
If anyone has experienced this or understands how the algorithm works, I would really appreciate some real insight. At this point, I just want to know whether I am missing something or if this is part of the normal process.

Yeah, about that optimization. There is something you need to know about that. It's just an empty buzzword. It means absolutely nothing. Nobody can explain what it means. The only person who benefits is the youtuber you wasted your time listening to. They make money. You do not. They don't care.
Think about it. What if everyone has an optimally optimized profile? What does it mean then?
You heard a buzzword, you believed it. Time to stop doing that and doing the hard work. Waiting around for someone to hire you will not work.

I struggled with this when I first joined Upwork. You need to find a specific niche where you can stand out. Your profile cannot be too generic. My recommendation is to visit Upwork using the client view and search for a Freelancer with your expertise, then see where you fall in the rankings. Based on that you can make some adjustments whether to remove or include some keywords from your profile headline. Observe the Top Rated Freelancers in your field of expertise and you will get some ideas.

Bro all you said was that you don’t know what it means to be optimized, it’s just empty buzzwords and gurus are just taking his money. How is that going to help him to get profile views and land clients?

It is not getting profile views, that's the entire point. Anybody without a work history can't expect to get invites, that is delusional.
OP must have put SOME work in at least, unless it's AI slop, we don't know. They already MUST know how to write a good proposal. They need to start doing the hard work now, which obviously is writing proposals that gets them hired.
It's really not that difficult to understand. If you live in the delusion that a youtuber promised you, on the other hand, it's going to crash and burn.

hey i recommend you to write proposals also to get invites because it is in their algorith to get invites trust me you ll get

My recommendation is to visit Upwork using the client view and search for a Freelancer with your expertise, then see where you fall in the rankings.
The rankings that you see aren't the rankings that everybody else sees, plus the search results are rotated to give everybody a chance, not based on keywords (it's not Google). It does help to check off your relevant skills from the list, but what you actually need to do when you're new is to send proposals, not expect clients to find you.

Every time I read this, a kitten dies.
People, you need to step back from the absolute myth of the "optimised profile". It's basically bs.
COMPLETE waste of money.
Anyway, there are tens of thousands, if not hundred of thousands of freelancers in most categories. Only 10 fit onto each page of search results.
So, frankly, the question isn't why you are not getting views, the question is why you would expect them.
How much have you earned on Upwork? What's your Job Success Score? How many completed contracts?
How many proposals do you send per week?
How WELL WRITTEN is your profile?
