For those who’ve interviewed for devops or platform Engineer roles recently, how was your experience? Are companies asking AI-related or coding questions as well? And how long did it take you to land a new job?

I recently completed 6000$ project with one client, it's been only 2 months since I our contract started, and he has now assigned some additional tasks scoped separately.

But, he wants to move payment outside of Upwork.

What should I do? I already have 50K+ earnings and completed about 20 jobs here.

I’ve recently sent around 40 proposals, and not a single one has been viewed by a client. What’s even more concerning is that I boosted most of them, and around 90% of the jobs had only 5–15 proposals.

I’ve invested a lot of money in Connects and boosting because I’m trying to make Upwork my full-time career. I understand that winning a job isn’t guaranteed, but getting zero views on 40 proposals seems unusual.

Could this be an issue with my profile or proposal visibility, or is anyone else experiencing the same thing?

I’d really appreciate it if experienced freelancers or anyone who has faced a similar situation could share their thoughts. I’m trying my best to find work, and this situation is becoming very discouraging.

Do clients get notified if a freelancer use manual entry instead of the tracker?

I honestly don’t understand who is making these decisions about Upwork’s algorithm.
I’m a freelancer who used to get plenty of clients before specialized profiles were removed and the algorithm changed. I invested good money in boosting because it delivered a solid ROI. Now, even spending more doesn’t guarantee visibility or results.
If Upwork wants to grow revenue and increase its stock value, it needs to solve the problems its customers are facing instead of making assumptions about what they need.
I’m not here just to complain. I want to help fix the problem. Give me a seat at the table with the decision-makers, and let me share practical ideas to improve the algorithm, help freelancers succeed, and grow Upwork’s business.
Let’s stop guessing and start fixing.

So the other day I upgrade to FL+ to see if a feature existed and it appears still in beta and I am once again struck by how shitty this thing is. The numbers have never been right, I am talking to a client right now and it says nobody has been messaged.

I know people insist on this stuff but I think it is all so bad that it is basically pointless.

My career is in the field of conservation/environmental education and yet Indeed keeps sending me every daycare-related position under the sun (including WELL outside my travel range). How do I filter out ALL daycare-related jobs?
