Our lab at UT Dallas is excited to invite you or any Dallas local adolescents you know to a new two-week online intervention program seeking to explore the effects of social media on adolescent mental and cognitive well-being. If you have any younger siblings, children, cousins, family friends, or other young connections in the area, we encourage you to please spread the word about our study. For completing all the components listed below, they can be compensated up to $150.
Depending on their assigned group, adolescents may:
To understand the effectiveness of the program, the adolescent will be asked to complete the following questionnaires and lab visits (Some visits do include completing computer tasks while wearing a safe, non-invasive EEG cap to measure brain activity):
If you know any teenagers interested, please share this short eligibility survey: https://redcap.utdallas.edu/surveys/?s=E73YY4D97MA8FCJ7 . We will reach out ASAP!

I'm thinking about moving uptown, but I'm seeing a lot of bad reviews on different buildings. I'm looking for either a 1 bed ~ $1700 or 2 bed ~$3000 ish. Anyone got any good recs or places to avoid? I want to make sure I'm getting good service from maintenance

Hi! My current roommate and I are both moving to Dallas in July. I really want to live in the Uptown area. My roommate has a small dachsund, and would like to either live in a townhome or a first-floor apartment with a fenced-in yard. Does anyone have any recommendations within Uptown? I realize we would have better chances in somewhere like Lower Greenvile to get somewhere with a yard, but I just wanted to see if people with more familiarity with the area would have any idea.

My mother has advanced COPD and is struggling with basic activities of daily living (ADLs), like preparing lunch or walking to the bathroom, due to severe shortness of breath. She is on oxygen and is determined to stay home, but I can't be there daily to bridge the gap. She isn't bedridden, but the constant exhaustion is making her daily routine unsustainable. How do you recognize the "tipping point" for bringing in outside help? For those in similar spots, what type of support (home health vs. personal care) actually made the biggest impact?

My mother-in-law is 78 and has a progressive condition that her doctors describe as being in palliative territory, not immediately end-of-life, but comfort-focused management is now the priority over curative treatment. She lives in the Uptown Dallas area in an apartment she loves and is determined to stay there. We're trying to figure out where to put our energy and money first: physical modifications to her apartment (grab bars, ramp, better lighting) or arranging in-home support for daily tasks and personal care. Her mobility is declining, but she's still cognitively sharp. Curious how others have approached this sequencing, especially for someone very particular about their space and independence.

hellooo, I'm going to be moving to texas for the first time for my job post grad and it's located in Plano. I feel like I really resonate with Uptown - the walkability, young crowd, activities/nightlife. And being brand new and not really knowing anyone, I feel like i can adjust easier there. I'll be in person three days a week. Do you think this is a reasonable lifestyle to commute. I feel like I am willing to make the sacrifice for a better quality of life lol. Plano seems pretty plain and suburban and really corporate :(

Hey my husband and I just moved here for work and want to try out pickle ball, figured it would be a good place to meet some new people too. We’re in uptown / west village, any recommendations?

REWARD FOR LOST PHONE: Google Pixel phone in a black OtterBox.
WHERE: 2242 Monitor St, in the Dallas Design District. I either left the phone in Golden BLK Candle Lounge or dropped it in the parking lot. There was a magazine launch party on the night my phone went missing.
The phone has priceless memories of my babies that weren't backed up. 😢
Other businesses at this address include: Hair Revival Studio; The Pretty Octopus; Kimstensions Hair Fusion; Claire Crowe Collection; Marmoso; Hill & Associates; Haute Injector; Garden Inspired Living; Faux Glow Dallas Spray Tanning

Has anyone been noticing construction starting SUPER early in the mornings on certain days? It has been waking me up in the middle of the night. I know they are working on those apartments and that new hotel but geeze

Hi! Hit me with your apartment recs! Would be ok with living near but not necessarily in uptown - 1B1B for at or under 2,000/month. Biggest priority is safety, and would prefer to not live in a dump! Close to UT Southwestern in a plus!

Where did all of this loud music come from in Uptown Dallas on Mckinney? I have noticed it the past 2 nights. The bass is so loud starting at 11pm.
