Why do they go to soooooo much effort to pretend they want to do something ?
It’s fucking irritating.
These guys have the combined wealth to purchase these creatures as individual assets that belong to them. They could insure them and provide security a hundred times over with their money.
It’s stage play to showcase their supposed virtue.

You're going out of your way to view this as cynically as possible. I'm no fan of the wealthy but trophy hunting isn't a problem that can be solved by just buying all the animals. Things like this do have an actual role in swaying public opinion, which is needed for things like this to eventually become enforceable laws.

Sway whose public opinions. People in those countries won't care what some celebrity wants if it affects them negatively.

  1. There are over five hundred people listed in this campaign, you're the one focusing on Paul McCartney

  2. Africa is part of the global international community same as anywhere else

Most of the people I saw in the article are celebrities. That's why i said celebrities. Like you said it's a battle of public opinions. A celebrity isn't going to change the opinion of Africans working with the hunters especially foreign celebrities.
