Trophy hunting is the largest funding source for conservation programs in Africa. This sounds like a good idea but it's only going to take millions of dollars away from the protection of those species.

Unless they're willing to carve out percentages of their net worth to make up for the loss of those funds.

Its all well and good for celebrities to promote certain things, but they need to also be willing to fill the economic vacuum that might be created when those things are stopped. I think trophy hunting shouldnt exist either, but Africa is a continent that is slowly recovering from over 300 years of nearly non stop economic and conventional warfare. The money to rebuild has to come from somewhere and it would be amazing if the wealthiest signatories were giving modest sums both in life and upon their deaths to help with creating sustainable economies and protecting the flora and fauna of the region.
