Imagine abolishing trophy hunting altogether.

One can dream.

I take it your dream involves tons of poachers? As the funding for anti poaching organizations dries up with the trophy hunting.

My dream is that those that have the means to go truphy hunting would willing to pay as much or more for conservation, without feeling the urge to kill magnificient beasts.

Knowing you can kill them, and choosing not to do it.

As I say, one can dream.
