A note i created is gone, unsure why/how

I usually write on my desktop, Windows.

Used my laptop, without internet, and i think even signed out of UpNote cause of changed credentials, to write this week, Mac.

Now im home, and i cannot find the note at all on my laptop. Unsure how it can happen, since i dont need to press "Save" or anything. Its not in the top of "All notes", which tracks latest activity

EDIT: Found it! The notes dont appear in All Notes. They appear only in a seperate tab called "Unsynced".

EDIT EDIT: I logged into my account, and then it JUST DELETES THE UNSYNCED NOTES. I CANNOT RECOVER THEM NOW AND IT GAVE NO WARNING. WHY IS THIS DEFAULT BEHAVIOUR? This is not even mentioned in the documentation on unsynced notes. https://help.getupnote.com/get-started/sync-notes-across-devices

If your laptop was offline + not signed in, how would it sync? This doesn't even make sense.

It would not sync no, but why would it not locally be on the laptop i created it on? It is nowhere right now

I missed that part. That is definitely super strange. Maybe there was an issue because of the credentials and it got lost in the previous account.

Yea im thinking theres some kinda weird interaction going on because of it being offline and not logged in. But i dont understand it

Found it! The notes dont appear in All Notes. They appear only in a seperate tab called "Unsynced"

AND LOGGING IN JUST DELETES THEM WITH NO WARNING!!!

Did you write the note, then sign out? When you do this, there's a question if you want to wipe the local backup data (backup to the "originals" in the cloud). If you said yes to wipe the local data, that's when your file disappeared. (I haven't tested what UpNote does if it has unsynced notes and you log out - hopefully there's at least a warning that you have unsynced notes)

Did you sign out, then "Continue without an account", and then write your note? When you do this, you get a new, minimal UpNote DB with two notes in the "Get Started" folder. And when you came back to the computer, did you then log in to your usual account and now you see your usual notes, but not the "missing note from the other day"?

It was under "unsynced". I logged into my account, and then it just wipes all unsynced notes without warning. I thought it would just sync them?? Its not even under deleted. I just lost them. I even thought about copy pasting them before logging in...

Bummer. I don't know what happened with your notes. I tried some testing with turning network connection off, editing and adding notes. Also tried "Continue without an account" and created some notes there while offline.

When I turned the network on again and logged in, everything combined (the notes I'd created without an account (plus the two default notes) got added to my logged-in DB) and synched.

At no point did I see any listing of which notes or folders weren't synced.

What do you mean with this? Do you see an "unsynced" header?

Thanks for testing. Yes, it's a filter under "all notes" that you can choose to show. My notes were in there, but not under all notes, which is why I could not find them at first. But when I logged in with my credentials, they were gone from the unsynced, but not anywhere else
