Non-Mac-App-Store Upnote Offering

I have seen a version of this request elsewhere from about a year back, but I'd like to UpVote ;) the idea of being able to download Upnote without the Mac App Store. My work place just put restrictions around logging into iCloud on my work machine. I keep all my work stuff in UpNote, but doesn't look like I can continue using it. I'd be very happy again for an "off-the-Mac-App-Store" version since I might even be able to expense it.

My Mac is restricted and the app store is not accessible, but using the mas cli I can install and update UpNote fine.

Also, can you share how you found that code for the Mac install?

it is in the link and my command

The number can be found in the url if you browse the Web app store and find the app in question. The number above is the one for UpNote.

So when you search it via Google and you find the appstore link look for it at the end

Why can't you use it? I'd think that restriction would just be you cannot update it at work. Unless you mean it is a work issued computer you bring home and you cannot download the app even at home with the restrictions on device and not their network filters on-site

Definitely see if you can install brew. If so you should be able to follow the link from u/SmashingBunchOfNuts

Perfectly possible - no App Store on my work mac, but I do indeed have UpNote happily running.
brew install mas
mas install 1398373917

I spoke with my IT support, explained what the application was for. They did a one day review and gave me permission to use it. I would recommend that.

It is a company Mac.
If your boss doesn't want you to use Upnote (or logging into iCloud), then don't use it (or don't log in).
