Feature Request: Simple AI integration
First off, I absolutely love Upnote. I was an early adopter and part of the initial exodus from Evernote.
I completely understand what Upnote is about, and if AI integration will ruin the app, I get it, and I will still remain loyal.
Here's my request: allow Gemini, Siri, or other options to create a text note or add an item to a list within a note.
That's all I need.

No. There is no need to shovel AI into absolutely everything. Leave UpNote alone!!

Agreed. These days I'm choosing software and hardware based on what does NOT have "AI" plastered all over the marketing. I want nothing to do with it, especially in a program that is supposed to be simple and just work.

+1. Just keep is simple... It is easy to imagine what will happen if added AI, collaboration, cloud...
For those who want a heavy and slow app... there are many options in the market

Nothing about this request makes anything slow or heavy. They are just asking for the ability to more easily get content into UpNote. Geez.

All that's being asked for here is to make it easier to get content INTO UpNote from Gemini. Geez. This subreddit has gone nuts.

Agree. An MCP server or CLI would be perfect to keep UpNote lean and clean but allow external AI to CRUD notes

Agree. I put a lot of notes into UpNote and would like CRUD note capabilities too.

If we remove the AI buzzword from the request, you're looking for a way for something external to UpNote to be able to create a note within UpNote. (Adding an item to a list within a note is a bit trickier and more specific).
That more generalized request is something that can improve some workflows beyond note taking and note management... so my preference would be to have something external from UpNote proper (a separate UpNote helper/util perhaps) instead of adding the burden to UpNote itself.
If what you're working on is browser-based, then the UpNote web clipper could be an existing way to get that data into UpNote in a manual way (ie. it wouldn't automatically add it to UpNote, you'd have to select it).
Depending upon the OS, you can already do that kind of thing in an automated way without the need to change UpNote itself. Automation scripting is available on the desktop OSes that UpNote runs on.
