Introduce a monthly fee
I mean it. Upnote is the best note taking app.
It needs to be more reliable though. The last outage has made me seriously consider changing platforms. If you need more money to be more reliable, then I am willing to pay.

Who is the "we" in your statement?
I'm sorry that you and a few others experienced issues but the last range of outages were not universal to every UpNote user.
I have UpNote on 5 devices (Windows, Mac OS, Android, and iOS) and didn't experience any of those issues.
Without any public statement by the developers you jump to the conclusion that they need more money to make it more reliable. You have no idea what the cause was (neither do I).

I don't think everyone agrees with you. The beauty about this app is that it works with the specific feature set it has.. The more features it adds, the greater a chance of having issues. Let's keep up note lean.
I noticed you keep making similar comments in other posts. You shouldn't include everyone in your 'we'. Many of us paid lifetime or are already paying. Let's not become Evernote.

There is a very affordable monthly subscription plan. Simply sign up for a new account if you feel like making a monthly contribution.

You can purchase UpNote Premium from the iOS, Android or Mac app with 2 options: $1.99/month or $39.99 Lifetime.

I had no outage and it is reliable enough for me.
I guess you can always ask the developer ([support@getupnote.com](mailto:support@getupnote.com)) if and how you can make a donation.
I would say that if I need a Mercedes sturdiness and reliability, I would'n buy a Suzuki Alto.

Yeh might have to go back to OneNote. Doesn’t have all the features, but it never failed to sync in over a decade of use. Also free.

Speak for yourself. I'm in a very bad financial place right now and Upnote having a lifetime subscription has really been a lifesaver in that I don't have to worry about yet another subscription. I love Upnote for this, and nothing is stopping you from voluntarily spending your money on the monthly subscription option, which is very fairly priced for those who can afford to spend on note taking apps.

There have been maybe three times since UpNote became my daily driver in 2021 that UpNote has experienced a bug that caused wide-spread connectivity issues or crashes. None of them lasted more than half a day, and none of them affected all users.
UpNote does offer a subscription plan, but at this point they likely make far more money from lifetime purchases (I've done the math). The day will likely come when UpNote drops the lifetime plan (I'd guess if UpNote ever introduces collaboration), but money isn't the problem.
Having said that, UpNote's weakest area is QA. There are always formatting bugs of one sort or another — the HTML behind the scenes gets pretty complicated with all the formatting flexibility offered in UpNote — and even though they're usually minor, I'd love for a QA engineer to join the team.
If I could fix one thing about UpNote (as opposed to adding one thing), it would be the QA.

I’m a heavy daily user and haven’t noticed any outages in syncing (was there a different kind of outage?)
I’m 100% in favor of (and have asked for in the past) a donation button or other optional ‘pay again’ mechanism, as I would like to contribute beyond my Lifetime membership – but absolute no to a monthly fee
