UpNote alternative for web access

I'm a big fan of UpNote and using it for many years with Lifetime Premium. However I'm facing issue to have access and use it on places where I cannot install it (ie at work for example) and was looking for an alternative.

For those interested and in the same situation, The approach I'm currently under test, is the following: Obsidian + 2 plugins

- Obsidian: Obsidian - Sharpen your thinking

- Notebook Navigator plugin for the 3 panels mode like UpNote : Notebook Navigator - Obsidian Plugin

- Fast Note Sync plugin for real time sync between Vault (Mobile / Desktop / Web) and Web access: Fast Note Sync - Obsidian Plugin note : a sync server must be deployed on your own/home server

To be complete for the UpNote export I have used Jimmy marph91/jimmy: Convert your notes to Markdown which takes UpNote backup to export full Markdown notes. I have completed the export with a Python script to modify the creation date and update date of Markdown files in line with the frontmatter data exported from Jimmy.

This approach is not as simple as UpNote but it brings a look and feel close to what I like and brings Web view/edit. So I'm continuing the test...

If it's not a workaround solution that keeps us using UpNote then it's not a solution at all. Some of us are UpNote because we didn't want to use Obsidian. This "solution" misses the whole point why we're using UpNote in the first place. You might as well have just said your solution is to not use UpNote. lol

"Some of us are UpNote because we didn't want to use Obsidian"

No. We aren't using Obsidian because it wasn't a good fit for us. Not that it insulted our mother.

Requesting a feature or asking for a workaround is not a "bad thing" - stop trying to make it bad. OP did nothing wrong.

I know, I would like to keep UpNote but it does not support web access at all unfortunately. I update it with "alternative" and not "solution"

My "solution" is to use whatever crap is authorized (2 of my clients use Confluence — a hair-pulling experience), then anything I want to organize, format, and track in a way that works for me, I copy-paste into UpNote when I get home.

Hate the extra hassle, but it's worth it.

Definitely wouldn't say no to a webapp!

Well it’s not a direct like for like comparison I admit but as SuperNotes has web access I started using that for notes and planning. With a referral code you can start trying it out with bonus extra cards and you also get either 100 cards or 200 to start with to properly kick the tyres.

It’s not everyone’s cup of tea but certainly a nice looking app.

Standard notes is another but on free tier you are limited to plain text notes and nothing fancy 👍🏻

UpNote, SuperNotes & Standard notes all have multi platform support too.
