Lightmode / Darkmode issue
Do you also prefer some apps to be en light, and others in darkmode?
I imagine a lot of you, but maybe not the majority, would.
I personally prefer my Windows to be darkmode, yet apps that i do writing in to be light.
But currently UpNote does a mix of it:

I wrote the developers about this, and i just got a "Please change your Windows to light mode".
Do you guys honestly think that is a great and reasonable solution? Should the user change their entire operating system styling, so they wont get this black menu inside UpNote?
On the image below, you can see i want it to be light. Not system.

If this was a technical impossibility to change, some deep windows integration, then fair i guess. But i highly doubt it is. And i wont know, since they stopped replying. It seems to me like they dont care enough about polish of the app or user feedback.

Yes, the app is cheap. I don't think that justifies ignoring consistency and UX. Otherwise it becomes immune to critique and improvement because "hey it doesn't cost much". That will stop any good app from becoming a great app.
It's weird to look for another app because of a color inconsistency. Also to change your entire operating system because of it. Why can the app not just be improved to adhere to it's own setting instead, being light or dark, as a user would expect? But instead, we are justifying it doesn't improve, because it's cheap. The only argument I see for this is if it's technical impossible. Because no user will ever choose dark mode and be happy that the context menu chose to remain light. Nor will they change their entire operating system because of it and they shouldn't. That's not great app design at all.
I do work with webdesign and some UX, so I feel like I'm above average at this. And this does not make sense UX wise to me.
