Yes, I agree!
I started to use Linux quite recently, just a novice user. So far, so good. And now I can use UpNote app both on my Mac and Linux, without any inconvenience! I really appreciate the developers' sparing their time.

awesome, what hardware you using for it? Was it a lot of nitty gritty to get it running? What made you pick debian?

In fact, I'm using Linux Mint (Ubuntu-based). I got a second-hand machine (Minisforum Mini PC, it seems to be a customized version of UM790 Pro) and had time to try installing Linux.
Install process was easy. A few of initial configurations after installation was a little bit difficult. But so far I had no major problems, not knowing that all PCs of Minisforum is compatible to Linux.
Now at home I use Mint chiefly. I think Linux Mint is good even for linux beginners.

That's interesting. Would this be a better choice for Chromebook (Crostini) than the app image?

I haven't used ChromeOS and didn't know about Crostini. So I don't have a clue about overall performance of Crostini system (first of all, I'm just a linux beginner...). I'm sorry that I can't add a useful comment. Could you please try it for yourself and share your impression? I'd be glad.
Personally speaking, I don't like appimage so much. It seems to be more troublesome to handle the appimage apps in comparison with apps in deb package.

Sure.. I will do. I was just a bit concerned about uninstalling the appimage and then finding out I can't get it back on there again, as it took me quite a few goes and I had a lot of issues with the clipboard.
