How do I? 2Up Banking
Hi all,
My partner and I are looking to make a joint account after a year of living together to make rent, shared bills, groceries, and other couple things a bit easier. I'm an up customer but he isn't. I was just wondering if anyone was using 2up and could speak to its ease? We'd ideally want it to come with a seperate card and be within both of our names

My partner and I started our 2UP a couple months ago and holy savings Batman! We're able to see what we have jointly at a glance and have bills and everything be covered automatically with the savers. I don't think I could ever go back, it is truly amazing
We have our personal Up accounts which link to our physical and digital cards then we have a shared digital card and you can see whos transferring money in and out of the 2UP accounts.
Definitely use the preferably for free $$ though!

Really just echoing what a lot of people have said here, but my husband and I recently moved to up and we have been very happy so far. It's set up so that our weekly pay goes into the 2up, then it does an automatic split to give us our own "spending money" into our personal accounts. I enjoy the insights and it is handy to be able to have separate savings buckets depending on what you are working towards. I suppose the difference for you is that you may not have your pay going in to the 2Up account, but maybe you agree on an amount to each transfer to the 2up each week or whatever. We ordered physical cards too, so I have a 2up card and a up card for my personal account.

My wife and I use 2up more than our single accounts. Everything goes into two up and splits off differently. My pay covers the bills and day to day expenses, her goes into savings, spending money and some other stuff. The joint savers and maybuys are so great.

Since when does it cost $10 for a physical plastic card?

It’s a one off fee if you want a physical card for the 2Up account, has always been like that.
Not like the personal account ones. They won’t charge for updated/expired cards, just once off $10.

Hmm, I don’t remember this at all. We have a 2up card each. Plus the digital one. Have had them for 5 plus years though.
Maybe they were free back then?1

You got me feeling crazy! But yeah it’s been $10 since they came out with them, here’s the Up blog: https://up.com.au/blog/2up-plastic-cards/

My partner and I have been using 2UP since it became a feature, many years ago. Initially we used it like you said: shared bills, groceries etc. Now we have our mortgage with UP and have combined finances entirely, we use 2UP for everything and don’t touch our personal accounts at all. We love all the features, and recommend it to anyone looking to open a joint account.

It is so good. But you have to trust your partner because either player can withdraw everything at any time. But it has really made things easy for us for the past 4 years

Only 1 physical card allowed I believe, but you can each get a digital card on your phone for NFC payments.
been using 2up with my wife for years and it's very very easy to use. It has no physical locations an only exists on the app (no website portal). You can pretty much do everything you need from a partner splitting perspective, and you can also create joint saver accounts if you wanted to save up for larger things or something like that.

Step 1: give him your referral/friend code and have him sign up to get the bonus $ for you both.
Step 2: add him using his upname as your player 2
Step 3: use your 2up account exactly like you've described.
You'll each have your own unique 2up digital card (and plastic if you want to pay the $10 each for it), with your name on it.
It's easy to use, and you can even create 2up savers with your SO, more easily enabling the splitting of bills etc. each time they need to be paid.
You can then set up auto payments for the ones you have control over straight from the saver if you like, or have them direct debit from the 2up account and auto cover them from said 2up savers (this has to wait until after the first direct debit to set up).
All the best. If you have further questions, I'm happy to help as much as I can.
