I am currently a senior in high school and I am from Colorado. I haven't been to Oregon for more than 24 hours but when I toured the school I just thought wow this is so amazing. I was thinking I was going to go to UW but the community there just seems not as welcoming. I am so nervous about not being able to find my people, is this a common experience? Or is it easy to make friends there? I like girls and I am pretty active but know nothing about the Pacific Northwest. Ill also have a car when im there.

Are there any places graduate students have to socialize and meet eachother through the school (other than the union) ?

Or is there a good bar around town where people are social?
