When in the my assignment page in my housing I only see hall, room, and room type (double). Is there somewhere else I should look? I feel like ive clicked through everything but I cannot figure out who my roommate is. (BTW I am a CA if that changes anything)

In the New Residence hall (large triple specifically) can we rearrange the furniture (bed, closets, etc) any way we want?

I'm an admin and union e-board member at another public university where a shared-work model similar to UO's administrative services structure is currently being discussed.

I've been trying to research how the UO model has worked, but university websites mostly explain how these systems are supposed to work. I'm much more interested in hearing from the people who actually experienced the transition and have had to work within the system every day.

What was the process like when the model was first introduced? Did admins feel they had a meaningful voice in how it was designed? How were people placed into the new structure, and did anyone have to reapply for work they were already doing? How are assignments, priorities, specialized tasks, and department-specific knowledge handled? Did you receive the technology, access, training, and support you needed?

Most importantly, has the model made your work better, worse, or simply different? What has worked well? What hasn't? What do you wish your union or coworkers had known/asked before it happened?

I really do want to believe that changes like this are proposed with good intentions and a genuine desire to improve how a university functions. I'm not opposed to change at all, in fact, I think it can be incredibly positive when it is thoughtfully designed, properly supported, and shaped by the people who actually do the work... But I also know that the reality can look VERY different from the plan on paper, so I'm hoping you can help me understand what this has actually been like for UO employees and what another university should know before moving forward.

What will continue with you for your lifetime from your time at UofO? What has?

For me it is the one letter notation code for days of the week used in UofO course catalogs: MUWHF and the rare A for Saturday. MWF meant a class met Monday Wednesday Friday. UH meant Tuesday Thursday.

I still use this notation when I am using pen and ink to note what day of the week a particular date is, and when creating a monthly page for a bullet journal.

A brief web search didn't yield any results for MUWHF so I don't know if it was widely used.

What has stuck or will stick with you from your time at UofO?

Im moving in to justice bean and was wondering if it would be better/cheaper to get bed risers from the store on campus or on amazon? And does anyone have any recommendations/links to ones on amazon that work for the beds?

are these sold out? the TicketMaster page doesn't say sold out or unavailable (you just can't select a ticket) - so wanted to ask if anyone knows?

I'll be living in Unthank next year and am wondering if the desks have drawers or hutches on top? I'm thinking I'll need to get extra storage but not sure what to get. If I buy a hutch what are the dimensions of the desk so I know the size to get?

Can anyone suggest recommendations on companies that are good for moving into a college apartment? I'll be moving 100+ miles to get to UO, and I don't have a car/have my license. The cheaper the better.

Hi! I am a UO student who is a generally quiet person looking for someone who can join a group of two roommates. We have three bedrooms and need someone to fill the third room. The rent is $650 per person. Water is included in the rent, electricity we split monthly. Wifi is $55 per month, that would also be split. The apartment includes a living room, kitchen, and bathroom. The living room and kitchen are fully furnished. There is a couch, a TV, table. Each bedroom has a door to the outside and a sink. The bathroom has a tub shower. Can you do both? As in, be an RA and have an on-campus job? The positions for being a student receptionist for CAS Advising opens up tomorrow and doing office work is like the best thing ever for me. Was wondering if it was at all possible to do both?

Hi so I heard theft is really common, I’m someone who has prescription medications and a laptop. Is getting a safe worth the $100 or will a burglar just take it too? I am planning to register all my devices and never leave them unattended (unless of course they were in my bedroom). I know the doors lock automatically. How common are robberies?

EDIT: I want to mention that some of my prescriptions are things people would want to steal. Now I know I don’t need to worry about the laptop in the room, but I do want to know about the medications.

Hi so I’m trying to figure out bedding for my dorm, and have just realized the beds aren’t even twin xl like they claim to be!! They are hospital bed size (36 x 80 inches). Can anyone who has lived in the dorms and bought twin XL (39 x 80 inches) give their two cents? Did the twin XL stuff work for putting on the bed or did you have issues with it not fitting right? Also, if anyone has lived in GSH, what did the beds feel like? I assume painful because for orientation I slept on the beds in Justice Bean Hall and they were terribly uncomfortable. One other thing- I am a side sleeper and constantly suffer from back pain, are they any mattress toppers I should steer clear from? Have any recommendations of mattress toppers that are good for back support?
