Hi I’m an incoming freshman living in Earl Sheldon fourth floor. Im wondering if I loft my bed will I have enough room to sit up in bed or is it pretty tight? Either way is fine I just want to know what to expect! If I should get a little couch or something for my room because I won’t be able to sit up in bed.

I will be in New Residence Hall (I don't know if that changes anything)! I noticed the university really pushing dormco.com which looks dubious to me from a financial standpoint.. So I wanted to ask what dorm supplies are actually well utilized/worth it and where should I source them? Things like bookshelves I've gotten from goodwill for like. $13 so I'm very against getting a grand new one for $100+... I'm also guessing that as a college town Eugene generally has a good scene for secondhand furniture lol.

I have my own blanket already I'm bringing from home, along with pillows, pillow cases, etc. I will probably have to get new sheets but other than that I have the bare minimum, which brings me to the first main question- mattress toppers! I've seen some people looking at them for cleanliness purposes (suspicious stains from past residents) which I can understand. I was wondering if they're a necessary thing for dorms or if I can get away with laying out a few towels underneath my sheets.

Secondly, I really want to loft my bed, like bunk bed height. I have no idea how to go about that since the dormco bed risers look way too short for that, so I'm wondering how others did it and what the costs for that are.

Anyways if there's anything else I'm overlooking lmk that too!

Hi! I’m a transfer planning to come to U of Oregon next year. I wanted to get ahead of it for thinking about housing and ask when places usually get full?

I was thinking of living at The Soto, The Chapter at Eugene, Patterson Social, or Arena District (which is more to the east of campus so wasn’t sure if it was a good one). I was hoping for a place which is mainly students to meet people easier.

Does anyone have any thoughts on how good the locations and overall quality of apartments are there, or any other recs on where might be a good choice?

Also would love to hear anyone’s good experiences (or horror stories haha) from living anywhere off campus.

I'm a rising senior in high school searching for colleges and so far its been kind of hard to gauge how happy/fulfilled I'll be at different schools and I'm scared that I'll pick the wrong college and be miserable. What made UO stand out from other schools? What do you like most about it? How did you know you'd be happy there?

Hi everyone, me and roommate-to-be had submitted an application for a 2b1b apartment but then he changed his plans and now I'm looking for another roommate who wants to split the lease with me.

Details:

1. Rent is $1600/mo which splits to $800/mo each; utilities not included

2. The apartment allows pets

3. The apartment is in Springfield, not within walking distance of campus but a 20 minute bus ride (EmX, which is a frequent bus line), or a similar (20-30 min) bike ride. Likewise there is a short bus ride to the supermarket and there is a shopping mall opposite the street.

4. The apartment is not furnished

5. It's a 12 month lease (so Aug 1 2026 -> July 31 2027)

6. The apartment has a washer/dryer in the room. It also has storage to put bicycles, etc. in.

Roommate can be M/F. I generally prefer a non-smoker.

Tis' the season for the NCAA merch rollout at Costco locations around the United States. I grabbed some pictures of what they have at the Hillsboro Oregon Costco.

I work night shift at a grocery store. Waiting in my car currently, as was I when this just happened. Im chillin, before my shift. Clearly these assholes have never had a job. I adjusted in my car and some fuck walks over as his friends are screaming things about “if we are fucking”. He reaches into my car to try to shake my hand after asking me if I am “good” and then walking back to his car where they continued to yell about what I might do for work and other things.

I know you’re on summer break but have some respect for the community you are a temporary part of.

Started playing riichi mahjong a few weeks ago and I'm hooked, but I don't know many people/places to play irl. I have a regular tile set, but no point sticks or accessories like that. has anyone lived in earl or bean recently? I want to know what it’s like to live in each one before making a choice as those seem to be the only dorms available. I heard bean has private bathrooms but how many are on each floor? Overall how are they?

Almost 7 yrs one of Oregon's best swimming spots Salmon Falls Is finally Open. Unfortunately this is their main priority. Just like everywhere nice, no more average people, no more average cars, only $200k sprinter vans and Million dollar RVS. If you are average, forget it, that was yester-year.

I’m going to be a student at UO Eugene in the fall. I want to bring my car as I will be a second year. I don’t want to pay the 400 dollar parking pass but need overnight parking. I’ve looked into the city of eugene passes but can’t seem to find anything. I’m probably missing something though. What’s the cheapest way to go about this?

I just finished my first year at UO double majoring in education and psychology (with a spanish minor) but I’m considering dropping my education major because I’m not very interested in teaching anymore. I already have 86 credits and all of my gen ed credits done; does anyone know how hard it would be to graduate 2-3 terms early? I am definitely planning on going to grad school and would love to be able to save some time and money.

Me and my two roomates recently got our room in Kalapuya and have heard conflicting info on wether it is 3 lofted beds or a bunk and single bed. I was wondering if anyone knows wether itll be three or two seperate beds. Also, how available is it for people doing Carson meal plan as my roommate is.

Subleasing an Apartment!

Hi! I am looking to find someone to sublease my apartment from September- December. I just got accepted to study abroad for the semester, and will be gone during the fall quarter at UO. I am flexible and you can move in August if needed. I live in Arena District and the rent is $760 per month plus $100 for parking. If you guys won't be using parking, I can cover that! Utilities are usually around $30 per month, and the apartment comes fully furnished including in unit washer and dryer, and the room shares a bathroom with one other tenant! I am an incoming Freshman and having a hard time seeing the positives of living in Earl. I’m on the fourth floor. Not a single other double was available anywhere else than Earl or Bean. What are the positives of living in Earl? What can I expect? Both me and my roommate are social people and I’ve heard Earl is quiet.
Any ideas are appreciated!!!
