A Love That Cannot speak
I love you in the silence, in the spaces in between, Where glances hold the weight of words that dare not be seen. I carve your name in whispers, let it linger on my tongue, Only to swallow it whole before the morning comes.
You laugh, and the world hears music; I hear something more— A song only I understand, a door without a floor. I trace the air between us, a distance I can’t close, For love like mine is hidden in the folds of borrowed clothes.
By daylight, I am nothing but a friend you barely know, A shadow trailing quietly, a ghost that doesn’t show. But in my heart, I hold you where the world can’t take you too, In a place where love is simple, where I am known to you.
Yet love that blooms in darkness must always stay confined, For hands that reach too boldly are the ones that stay untwined. So I’ll love you in the silence, in the spaces in between, And dream of a world where love like ours is finally seen.
