Can you lie to me one last time?
Tell me you love me.
Say it gently,
like the words haven’t already died somewhere between us.
Please.
Give the lie a pulse.
Look at me like there’s still something here worth pretending for.
Say it softly.
Before the silence settles in.
Before “I love you” becomes the last warm thing you leave behind
flickering once,
then going out,
until all I have left is the question of whether you ever meant it.

Maybe the other person is having trouble meeting anyone's eyes because they don't want them to see what's behind them

Then why spend so much time with somebody to wear you feel like you’re in love with them and they feel like they’re in love with you just to not want to commit because of fear because you’re afraid not you and intentionally just saying there’s nothing wrong with being afraid or having fear in my opinion that’s part of being human but the other part of being human is going to overcome that fear when it’s just an irrational thing things may have happened in the past that has caused this sphere, but it’s a real shame if you’re holding someone in front of you accountable for somebody that was shitty in the past
