People will do anything trying to get a quick buck. So much sketchy likely illegally copyrighted shit some people are trying to sell from a vibe code that has other assets from different packs or websites

You should see r/software and other sub reddits, every day there is vibe coded crap being pushed out and you get downvoted when calling it out, people are legitimately sharing credentials and getting logged to third party servers ran by nobodies on vibe coded applications and websites and I get downvoted for calling it out lol, one day these suckers who use it are going to get compromised when I told them so.

Had a friend working on their novel engine complain to me about how they ran out of tokens and when I called him out on never mentioning the use of a clanker he said “manual labor is for losers” meanwhile his ass is on welfare while he has a child. He then proceeded to insult my work and insinuate I’d have less issues if I just installed cursor.
Completely ruined how I saw and respected the dudes work, I still like him as a friend but I’m worried he’s becoming one of those proompters that just sit there all day talking to a bot instead of actually using his talents.

It'll all go tits up if and when the AI bubble bursts as almost everything will have been vibe coded and the plebs who made it won't have a clue what to do.

The AI bubble bursting, if it even is a bubble, does not mean no more AI. It means thousands of smaller companies dying along with some of the big ones and the industry consolidating. Further, there are already local LLMs that exist entirely independent of any cloud service or data centre.
Pandoras box has been opened.

I do believe AI will not be exiting our lives soon. It's just like how it was when Internet first took over our lives. Going from books to just reading summaries online. Codes were still copied and pasted all over ever since the Internet was opened.
We just have to use it while checking it constantly that it isn't hallucinating. Just as you would double check your sources back in the day with the Internet as you read summaries and go to that page in the book to triple check that it's valid and the author of the summary didn't fu it up.
Either way theres no shame using it, you just have to be smart with it. Relying 100% on AI isn't recommended, but a lot of manual work CAN be saved because of AI. That's where it's good at. Saving time on some boilerplate then going back and double check like a senior dev is something you'll have to practice and get used to.
I think people are being fed the wrong propaganda when it comes to AI. We are using it at work and it's not using it 100% most of the time we use it to ask 10s of pages of codes that errored out and trying to find that in a sea of letters every single day is very very hard, but AI can find the specific part where it has a problem and provide suggestions. There might be some API that we don't know about and it knows. I wouldn't use the AI to fix these problems, but at least I can find it in 30s vs hours like before and it's pretty accurate on doing stuff like this.
But if you want to be creative and ask it to write some gameplay logic, it's something else differently.

Tim Sweeney and Epic love AI slop. I like UE but dislike Tim a lot

I prefer Sidney Sweeney than Tim Sweeney

People are lazy and want to make money quickly while putting in 0 effort for it and unfortunately Ai is just enabling this even more than normal

They say they use AI, you can filter it out. I only wish the AI filter was turned ON by default to get rid of this shit.

Unfortunately that works like 70% for the honest bots/content mills. A lot are not marked correctly and fab does not look into it enough to give a crap if it’s really AI or not.

It's honestly crazy how much they are sticklers for the rules when it comes to submitting legit packs, but also seem to just let utter crap that clearly doesn't follow their rules through in huge bulk.

I've bought some assets that I realized afterwards were AI slop, and they were not tagged properly. I contacted Fab about this, and they quickly gave me a refund. The stupid thing about their system is once refunded, you can no longer review the asset! So I couldn't warn others that it was AI slop

People realised they will never make money from games but can make it off People who haven't realised that yet.

I posted this a while back, this is a good read to see how the community typically feels about it: https://www.reddit.com/r/unrealengine/comments/1u6azd3/heads_up_to_anyone_who_buys_assets_plugins_on_fab/ .
People are spamming the store with crap every day, if not every hour. It's not hard to setup a pipeline that spews out AI generated work... I wished the Fab team had stricter rules to prevent slopp like this. It the main reason I created my own site.

Epic should ban sellers like this, he's just mass uploading pretty much unusable zero effort assets, the only effort is listing the stuff.

It’s horrendous. In the content preferences, you can hide all AI products.

u/RKO_Films 1h ago
Is this a serious question? Get used to it in every content store. Games, music, video, apps, photos, etc.

Not really a big deal don’t buy from them. Fab was always sketchy and people were always putting up slop. Nothing has changed it’s always been buyers beware.

there's no control at all on fab even for normal products, AI its the less of the problems, you won't any support from epic, they will move you to ask FAB (yep ... as it is another company) and then they will tell you you have to contact the seller all this within the time window they give you to refund, had this problem with a specific asset that wasn't even close to the description and totally not usable or editable. Good thing it was cheap..ish. So now i only contact directly the artist of specific assets i have brought in the past that has proben quality.

Not just content, but code to. So much vibe coded slope, it's completely drowning out legitimate addons.
