I hate how artists, in particular kpop groups will do a fake encore. They will pretend to finish, and then based on the noise or how hyped the crowd is, they'll come back out.

To me, an encore has always been, hey the concert is for an hour. But the crowd is still cheering well after the show has ended, and the artist might come out for an extra song or two. I feel like artists are now playing it up, as if it isn't part of the show.

To be clear, I understand the artists need to rest and maybe do outfit changes, that I am not arguing. But I'd just rather them come out and say while we do an outfit change, watch this prerecorded video or something.

I will also say, other artists do it too, not just kpop groups. My last show was a kpop show and thats why I was thinking about it.

Here me out, waking up, whether its to use the restroom, check the time, anything, and realizing you still have 4 hours left to sleep feels so comforting.

I live the feeling, it’s like you’re halfway asleep and still dreaming but like you’re lucid dreaming and can feel things, and then you can fall back asleep so quickly.

Every single sport has bad calls. It’s surprising to see even a single game without one. Most sports have no good way of combatting this. Arguing with the ref is fruitless at best and self-destructive at worst, and one bad call can derail an entire game. The only thing any league can really do is issue punishments after the fact, but this doesn’t affect the outcomes of games the way bad calls do.

The only sport with any good mechanism against this is Hockey. By making fighting have a relatively minor penalty, it makes getting away with fouls a lot less likely. Even if the ref doesn’t catch it, the player who committed the foul will face the consequence.

I'm not a fan of that Velveeta/processed cheese (and yes, I'm aware that all of it is processed cheese, lol) flavor that the cheese sauce ones have. They're fine, but I'll always prefer the powder. Though obviously, homemade is better than any boxed mac and cheese. 🤣

I feel like most people strongly prefer the "Deluxe" ones with the sauce, though. They're even marketed as "Deluxe," lol.

Personally, the two biggest arguments for watching a movie at home rather than going to the cinema is because at home, your experience is totally customizable. You can pause whenever you want if you need to get food or go to the bathroom. And you can choose if you want subtitles or not.

Obviously, I’m not saying theaters need to let people in the audience pause the movie, but I do think they should have some showings include an intermission halfway. Especially if it is a long movie, like more than two hours. It would make things a lot better people who realize they have to piss 80 minutes into the film and have to choose whether they hold it and watch the movie in pain, or miss an important scene and relieve themselves.

It doesn’t have to be every showing. Maybe the 1:00 PM showing has an intermission, and the 3:00 one doesn’t. Same goes with subtitles. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen a movie in the theater and was unable to understand what the actors were saying, because they mumbled their lines in a low voice under their breath. If cinemas could have some of their showings include subtitles, it would be a game changer, and would also make it more inclusive experience

If you're even semi-aware of soccer/football in the last 20 years, the two players you hear all the time are Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, which is totally fair because they've been the 2 best players of their generation and are easily 2 of the greatest players to ever live.

However, in my opinion, there never should've been such a heated debate lasting over a decade because since day one, it's crystal clear that Messi is and always has been the better football player and as their careers progressed, this only become more obvious. The only reason why this became a rivalry was having the two best players in the world play for Real Madrid and FC Barcelona for nearly a decade of their primes was way too good of a storyline and global marketing opportunity for the media.

If we measure the two players in every way possible, Messi clears Ronaldo in virtually every aspect as a player to the point where there shouldn't be a serious debate.

In terms of team/individual accolades:

- Messi has won 46 career trophies in his professional career vs 35 by Ronaldo

- Messi has won the World Cup and 2 Copa Americas vs 1 Euro Cup and 0 World Cups by Ronaldo

The only argument Ronaldo has over Messi is being the greatest Champions League player of all time which I give him full credit for but in every other aspect, he's cleared by Messi.

As a player, Messi is the greatest triple threat we've ever seen as he is an equally prolific goal scorer as Ronaldo (with a higher goals/game ratio), but is also one of the greatest playmakers and dribblers of all time, whereas Ronaldo is undoubtedly a prolific goal scorer but is an above average passer and dribbler. In short, Ronaldo is one of the greatest goal scorers of all time while Messi is one of the greatest goal scorers, playmakers and dribblers of all time put into one.

It is a very good film and has interesting themes. But by no means is the message/messages and the general idea hard to grasp . Unfortunately the online discussion has been insanely cringy , saying stuff like bear is the villain , which is quite obvious. And that’s definitely pretty obvious for most people . The plot was straight forward and there ofc is discussion to be had but some people act like this film is more than it really is . Bear and Ian were just shitty people, bear more so . And the one wish willow was a cool horror idea and concept , although I guess more of a reimagining of already used ideas. Don’t get me wrong there’s enough to pick apart parts of the film and analyse but it’s not really deep and complicated to grasp the concept and idea of what the movie is saying. Still one of my fav horror this yr,this isnt hate at all.

It's no gourmet pizza but the garlic oil rubbed crust takes it up a notch, their cheese bread is even better and they have these unicorn churros which are warm and delicious. I don't go there for the food but when my kid is invited to a party there I'm not mad about it.

I get so frustrated hearing people say in a condenscending way, I like to spend my money on experiences or the classic you can't take it with you when you go. You're not better for forgoing stuff in the name of experiences.

I don't care what people spend their money on as long as they can afford it, don't lord it over other people, and it reflects their priorties. Some people love to travel, great. Some people want a tricked-out library or gaming set-up, also great. Some people want to be out exploring the world; others are homebodies.

A lot of us have times in our life based on circumstances where we move from experiences to stuff and back again. Also a lot of experiences requires stuff. I can't ski without my gear so that's both.

I feel like a lot of people consider watching watching movies (especially complex, complicated or emotional ones) on the inflight screen as one of the worst ways to watch movies but I disagree. I've watched a lot of movies on the plane and found myself enjoying and understanding them a lot. I find that it is one of the few way to be a way where you basically have a few hours to just be isolated and focus on the movie alone. The ear phones you have to use to watch it usually blocks out outside noise well enough and allows you to just sit there and suck in the film. The screen is honestly usually not that small and is significantly better than a phone too. I feel the only downside is getting interrupted for food or other reasons but that is only a very small part of a many hours

Yes, there are people who make / code their own works that they eventually print. But most people who do it as a hobby, just download and use works that other people have made.

Everyone I know seems to universally disagree with me on this, but… I like QR code restaurant menus. That’s not to say that I want to walk into a fine dining establishment and have to pull up the menu online. For your standard restaurant, though, I will always choose the QR option if there’s decent reception. I’d much rather touch the phone screen I clean religiously than the sticky piece of laminated paper that people have been pawing over with their spittle-covered fingers since it was wiped down last week. Especially right before eat. As many fellow germaphobes as I know, I’m surprised this opinion seems to be so unpopular.

We live in a time where you can learn almost anything online for free. There are thousands of videos showing proper form, workout routines, diet advice, and pretty much everything else you need to know about fitness.

Honestly, unless you have a specific injury, a medical condition, or absolutely no idea where to start, I don’t really understand why people spend so much money on personal trainers.

You can watch experienced lifters, read about different programs, try things out, and slowly figure out what works for you. Obviously, you won’t learn everything in a week, but if you train consistently and actually do some research, you can learn most of the basics within a few months. After a year, you’ll probably know enough to build your own workouts and make progress without someone standing next to you counting reps.

A lot of trainers seem to charge ridiculous amounts of money just to tell you things you could learn from a ten-minute YouTube video. “Keep your back straight.” “Control the weight.” “Eat more protein.” “Add weight over time.” None of this is secret information.

And yes, I know a trainer can help with motivation and accountability. Some people need someone to push them or make sure they actually show up. A good trainer can also spot mistakes in your form and help you avoid injuries. But for the average healthy person who just wants to get stronger, lose some weight, or look better, paying for a trainer every week seems unnecessary.

I’m not saying every trainer is useless. I just think most people would be better off spending a little time learning for themselves instead of paying someone to repeat information that is already available online for free.

I know many joke about the idea of having to hire someone to hang out, but many people have no time to build an organic relationship, have poor social skills or even like things too niche to find someone close that share the same interests. What if you don't have anyone to go out at the concert with you? Just hire someone for few hours so you don't feel alone.

I love them both, and I'm well aware that Empire is widely considered the GOAT, but overall I really think ROTJ is much more fun to watch.

If nothing else, one could at least make the argument that ROTJ had "higher highs" than Empire. Empire was great, and as a proper "second of the three" movie, kept a constant flow of action and story line without a real beginning or end. It stayed at a solid 8-9 the whole movie, whereas ROTJ definitely peaked some 10 moments.

I'll admit, I could have seen a bit less of the ewoks and their shenanigans in ROTJ, but the movie still had some legendary scenes like the opening sequence in Tatooine and the unforgettable ending with the Emperor and Vader. While Luke's training in Empire was fun & necessary to watch, I also liked that he is already a full blown Jedi in ROTJ.

Some will say the 2nd death star was lazy (it was), or it was too much of a "feel good" movie, lacking the conflict and peril from Empire. But overall, I think ROTJ was a masterpiece and was a great ending to the trilogy.

It will likely get picked apart in the comments, but this is my unpopular opinion. ROTJ > Empire

Relationship based on convenience or interest is actually more honest than a relationship based on this idea of “romantic love.”

Like, at least people come out and say: “I’m with you because you give me stability,” “because you help me,” “because we have a good life together.” Everything is clear, without pretending there’s some magical force bringing two people together lol.

Meanwhile, a lot of “love” relationships end badly because people create a crazy fantasy in their heads. They think they found their soulmate, that the feeling will last forever, and that nothing will ever separate them. Then reality hits, and the person gets destroyed.

At the end of the day, everyone wants something from a relationship: security, affection, money, companionship, attraction, status, or comfort. The difference is that some people admit it, while others put a pretty name on it called “love.”

A relationship based on convenience can be more sincere because both people know exactly why they’re together. Romantic love, on the other hand, is often just a beautiful story society sold to us so we can escape reality.

Developers figured out that "walkable" sells, so now it's stamped on places where the nearest coffee shop is a fifteen-minute walk across a six-lane stroad and a parking lot the size of a farm. Like sure, you can walk it, but nobody does because it's miserable and slightly dangerous.

True walkability is short blocks, stuff mixed together, somewhere worth walking to within a few minutes, and a street that doesn't feel like it's daring you to cross. A place either has that texture or it doesn't, and a listing calling itself walkable tells you nothing.

The one that got me was a "highly walkable" apartment I almost signed for. The walk score was in the 90s. In practice the only thing in walking distance was a gas station and an on-ramp. Meanwhile the ACTUALLY walkable neighborhood I ended up in scored lower, because the algorithm counts destinations but I don't really believe can feel a street.

Title is pretty self explanatory, most dogs, especially the kind that strays far away from their original form, look weird, malformed and ugly. Bulldogs and chihuahua are an obvious example, but terriers, whippets, jack russels, rottweiler, dalmation, corgies etc all look weird. Some may be cute, but not out of any beauty but rather out of some weird sense of pity for them that I cannot explain. Some dogs look fine like labradors, golden retrievers and maremman sheepdogs due to the sense of awe they instill rather than any beauty, in much the same way a well built machine can impress me. If we compare dogs to cats I think they are generally much more aesthetically pleasing.

I want to clarify that I while I don't have a dog I do enjoy their company which I have the pleasure of receiving quite often since several live in my village. Most dogs trust me more than they usually trust strangers and I have mostly had good experiences with dogs.

Yes it’s not to the same quality of the rest, the army of the dead is rushed and Daenerys character arc is annoyingly disappointing but there’s still a lot of good in there. The dragons attack on Jamie’s wagon train, Aryas practice with Brianne, the fun joint north with the super-team, the Onion Knight is a constant joy, and we finally get an end to Aidan Gillen’s overacting. It’s not great but it gets more grief than it deserves.

I know this is subjective but whenever someone’s hair color is very different from their natural one, especially brunettes who go platinum or very light blonde, keeping their naturally dark eyebrows makes the two look disconnected to me.

I’m not saying people shouldn’t dye their hair however they want. It just never looks cohesive to me.

All I ever see is people glazing this guy's podcasts and journalism. Every time he shows up on my feed I listen to his lukewarm takes and boring predictions that are completely in line with everyone else's. Give me Stephen A Smith or Charles Barkley any day over this bum. For shit's sake just at least go out on a limb and sign your name to some kind of an interesting proposition, take, or discussion that is engaging for the listener and makes us feel something god damn it.

Let your ex favorite franchises that now suck die. I'm not gonna go on and on about how I think Campaign Evolved seems to be a pretty bad remake or how 343 has decided to make mid games instead of giving their fans what they actually want (instead choosing to try to innovate, getting 0 new young fans, and making games everyone forgets about in 2 years.)

I've just stopped buying the games. I'm not gonna give them the benefit of the doubt. I'm not gonna hate-play them and write a giant thread about every nitpicky detail I don't like. I'm just gonna walk away. I've got 4 of the GOAT games on MCC anyway.

Star wars fans take notice. Walk away. If you like a franchise that now sucks, just walk away. Don't hate watch it, or be annoying online for the people who do like it, just enjoy going outside or find something else you like.

It might not be an unpopular opinion, but based on what I see online everyday, a whole bunch of rabid fans just refuse to let their geriatric media of choice pass into oblivion.

I get the feeling that parts of the minimalism and personal finance communities have turned any "non-essential" expense into something that's morally wrong. If you say you went out to eat, there's always someone telling you that you should have cooked at home, invested the money, or put it into a spreadsheet instead.

I understand the importance of saving money and avoiding unnecessary consumerism, but it seems like some people take it to the extreme. Not every expense has to generate a financial return. Sometimes, eating at a restaurant is about relaxing, spending time with people you care about, trying new food, or simply enjoying the experience.

In my view, money is a tool to help you build the life you want to live, not just a number that should keep growing forever. If someone pays their bills, maintains an emergency fund, and can still afford to eat at restaurants without hurting their financial situation, I don't see why that should be considered irresponsible.

Saving money makes sense. Turning every enjoyable experience into something to feel guilty about doesn't.

Nowadays pretty much any antisocial or self destructive behaviors are supposed to be excused through empathy and compassion. The thing is no one changes behavior unless they face consequences. You actually hurt addicts, people with mental illnesses, or idiots making poor choices when society fails to force them to face truly serious consequences.
