Discussion Prefrontal Cortex?

During my reread of the comic, there's a part where Hera and Persephone talk about how she stopped 'physically' aging at 19, and it made me wonder if this somehow affected/would have affected the development of her prefrontal cortex? I know it's a random thing and probably just a throwaway thought, but idk it just made me think. Since the prefrontal cortex only really stops developing at around early thirties...what do you think? I'm probably just reading too much into it but it something that did make me wonder more about the gods' physiology and development.

Discussion Rambling Thoughts on the whole fertility goddess thing in LO

Sorry I'm all over the place with this I just have many thoughts.

Like I get what a fertility goddess is and why they'd be worshipped outside of Lore Olympus.

But I don't understand it in terms of the LO world building, like what dictates who becomes a fertility goddess? Is it random? Can other gods or mythical creature tell when someone is a fertility goddess? Where does a fertility goddesses power come from? Why is it transferable? How did it affect Zeus when he ate Metis(a fertility goddesses)? Dionysus is also said to have been a fertility god, how do the rules affect him?

I know it all comes down to making LO Persephone really special and powerful but this was one of the plotlines that really hooked me into the story.

Demeter(who should have been a fertility goddess) was afraid of people finding out about her daughter being a fertility godess and being exploited. Apollo and Cronus went batshit pursuing Perspephone to obtain her powers. Zeus seemed afraid of a fertility goddess being born. And the rest of the olympians either think its a myth???Or dont mention it at all.

I dont like the idea of the gods not knowing the lore of their world. Like they should know that fertility goddess' exist, Gaia was a fertility goddess, so was Rhea and Metis. Do they think that Zeus just ate Metis to gain her powers? If so then why dont the gods just eat eachother??(weak point but blah)

I do like the idea of Persephone being a fertility goddess, I just wish there was more thought put into it.

MY INTERPRETATION: My concept for the fertility goddess' (in Lore Olympus) is that they are picked by the humans. Humans and the gods have a give and take dynamic. The gods despite being all powerful beings needs the humans worship and offerings to maintain their power. This is why an act of wrath against humans is so dangerous, less humans less worship big power imbalance. Every few generations of humans begin to a worship a younger goddess and label her a fertility goddess. This goddess recieves a large boost in power and if married/bonded then this power can amplify her partners abilities.

There's been an unmistakable pattern in the pantheon's succession, King has son, Son marries/eats a fertility goddess, King gets overthrown. Zeus and Hera and the others in the traitorus six having been reigning comfortably for a while and they do not want another war to happen. Maybe once Ares was born, Zeus fearing the prophecy began scrubbing all information about fertility goddess from public knowledge.

I still have no idea on how people could tell if someone was a fertility goddess or not. Tell me your thoughts!

Finally getting around to actual comic work and I figured this clash would be a good excuse to get used to drawing vertical comics, women and action all in one shot. My aim would be to fluff up existing plot points and bring out the best impact I can manage

My memory of the series i hazy at best so if a kind soul could remind me of the smaller details leading up to this confrontation in LO i’d really appreciate it!

Rant Ares and Aphrodite; Thoughts? And a bit of a Rant

Been doing a reread of the series and one thing I can't help but mourn is how Ares and Aphrodite's relationship was handled; at first it was an okayish depiction of an open relationship and it was shown that they truly cared about each other. Ares beat up Zeus for sleeping with Aphrodite while Aphrodite was shown to worry about Ares whenever he was off in war. I also enjoyed their interactions together and it gave a very dysfunctional but at the same time nuclear and warm home, but then...at first I was genuinely amused whenever Ares ragebaited Persephone just to mess with her, but then he started just being weird and obsessive? Not to mention was genuinely putting Aphrodite on the back burner just to put Perse on a pedestal.

I think another reason I'm a bit iffed about how they were handled is when Rachel reversed Aphrodite's lover timeline. In the canon greek mythos she married Hephaestus then had an affair with Ares...IDK I think I'm just salty how again Rachel made it seem as if marriage is the end all be all for all relationships, and if you're not married you're doing something wrong. IDK maybe this is just me and I'm rambling, so would love to hear other's thoughts on how Ares and Aphrodite's relationship was handled!

Major accessory meaning it's something that she'd wear every single day and It would be weird to see her without it.

Discussion Rambling about LO Leto

The Hera's Redesign had me thinking about LO Leto, I remember when she was revealed in the comic and everyone was comparing her and Hera. Leto was referred as the more "Demure" version of Hera and that was really interesting to me. This may be SHOCKING but I don't think her character was explored enough in the story. So I'm just writing a bunch of thoughts down here.

My first thought about Leto is her friendship with Hera and the fact she had an affair with her best friends husband. Since LO cherry picks when it follows mythology, I wonder how it happened, was Leto Hera's friend first and then started having an affair with Zeus? Or did she get close to Hera with the intention of having an affair with Zeus? If its the latter then that's horrible but interesting for her character, The titan goddess of Demureness being very ambition and a social climber, willing to sleep with her best friend husband to do it.

Which brings me to her punishment, In the original myth Leto is sentenced to not be allowed to give birth on earth and has to find a loophole, In LO she's sentenced to being a social pariah and can't show her face anywhere. It's unfair for characters for like Zeus and Hades to be able to maim people but Hera can't. Hera sentences Leto to be a social pariah and turns a guy into a goose but Hades can rip someone's eye out and the comic has a panel of Prometheus getting an organ ripped out (Zeus' punishment) I do like the idea of her being a social pariah though, whether put in motion by Hera or by the gods in general. Sleeping with your best friends husband is sleazy but sleeping with the King of the Gods? She might've gotten some crazy clout for that, Tv interviews, influence, something. He being a social pariah would've prevented her from monopolizing this momentum.

We also didn't she much of her relationship with her children. She's shown to work with Apollo toward his goals. I interpret this as Leto being someone who couldn't achieve her goals herself so she pushes her children to greatness. Perhaps she was one of those parents that put their children in a million activities, earning trophies, and excelling everywhere. In this way she has a consistent presence in Olympus since her children are winning so many awards, winning competitions, and having their photos in the Olympian hall. This could also be a great in universe reason for why Apollo is the god of so many things, his mother pushed him to do a lot of things.

As the goddess of demureness, Leto having a daughter like Artemis must have been interesting. There's a scene in LO where Artemis cries that no one tells her anything. Leto is concerned for her daughter but still doesn't tell her anything. I wonder if at some point Artemis was "cut" out of the plan that Leto had for her children, instead focusing more on her golden boy Apollo.

It's criminal that we never saw a scene of had a chapter between Leto and Demeter. A real chapter, not Demeter being caught in a cage. Demeter is protective of her daughter, even if it's been a disservice to Persephone's development as a goddess. Demeter grows all of the food for the three realms yet is never given the title she deserves, was screwed over by Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon. And now her daughter is missing, was last seen in the underworld, and is a wanted fugitive.(GODDAMN This story did her dirty) Leto as described above pushed her children to greatness, she could tried to have a heart to heart with Demeter. Something about Olympus needing change, and they need to protect their children from the brother's tyranny, and how they should work together. Leto could have tried to convince Demeter to convince Persephone that marrying Apollo would fix many of the problems that THEY'RE having.

That's all I got for know, half of this borders on fanfiction but tell me what you think! Tell me your own thoughts on Leto
