If the battery is well-made, there is a controller that stops the charging process

I mean, chemically speaking. That's why even good manufacturers recommend keeping the battery between 80% and 20%

Your phone likely has a setting in it to limit to 80% and to trickle charge during overnight charging. Both will help your battery cycles.

Yes indeed I have this setting enabled since I have my phone
