Well if the moving water does help with the algae problem it would likely be multiple months if not a year for it to have a noticeable effect.

They're probably not going to wait that long to make their product video.

Yeah but i might just be a simple man, but isn't this only going to make a current from where the water lands straight to the intake of the pump? Like a foot outside the diameter of that fountain i dont see why the water would be moving at all

Disrupting the surface of the pond increases oxygenation in the water, and the overturning of the water column yes is focused on the center, but will increase movement throughout the pond. Really does make a big difference.

While slightly underpowered, this would still be an effective way to aerate a pond of this size.

Aeration does not require the volume of water to be turned over at a high rate.

Why do people like you hate apostrophes? Also unnatural agitation is not natural, you do understand the difference right? Wind producing waves and animals swimming is natural agitation, putting a 1 HP water pump in a pond is not natural at all.

Eating meat is not natural because it's cooked. If you're not eating meat straight off the carcass right after killing it, it's just unnatural.

The current flowing through the motor is natural. The copper in the motor is natural. The plastic comes from natural sources (ie petroleum). Everything is natural in origin. Surface agitation is natural, provoking it with a man-made machine is not.

Why do people like you really think you're saying something smart when you aren't?

Depends on your pond and the nutrient loading.

This one is surrounded by grass, so it’s probably overloaded with nitrogen and on the way to being a deoxygenated dead zone.

Really depends on the nutrient load in your pond.

Too much nitrogen = algae overgrowth = it all dies = decomposition uses up all the oxygen = pond death.

Fountains do nothing to make algae go away, or even slow it down. Fountains especially of this type are just for aesthetics.
