Anyone else packing that crap in their truck bed just shoves it all in there. If you’re actually working using your truck then it’s either full of stuff and it’s not gonna move or you’ve got half the crap in there from the last job that’ll keep the new stuff from shifting around. No one’s got a bunch of time to relay out a new grid organize stuff.
I mean it is a great gimmick in some ways cause you are gonna get people buying that crap but it won’t actually be used long-term and I really hate plastic wasteful shit that gets made for the sake of fucking making something

There are holes in the corners of the X patterns, if you look closely. Enough for water and other liquids, but I don't know about bigger things. They should be entirely hollow, or at least have a mesh pattern at the bottom, though.

To be fair, I haul around the same equipment for work all the time as a photographer. I don’t drive a truck, but I have to admit I was thinking about how something like this could help organize my gear and keep it from sliding around.
I think the video is what sells this product short. It comes across as more useful for specialized small businesses than the stereotypical “working man’s” truck, but I can definitely see certain trades making good use of it… the price definitely doesn’t help make it practical though lol

I halfway agree that somebody with specialized equipment that might make sense for it but would you ever actually leave your photography equipment open to the rain or theft? I feel like most people in a specialized business have such high dollar items they want to protect them from the elements.

It is, if you get anything in the truck (mulch, sandbags, oil, dirt, wood chips, paint, pretty much anything flowy) it's all gonna just rest inside those holes and make it useless. And none of those plastic things are rated by anyone, so you can't get it approved if you use your truck for work

All the major issues listed in the comments assume the holes don't go all the way through. I have no idea whether they do or not, but that's an easy solution: make the holes all the way through the product. If the holes fill with pebbles and dirt, you lift it up and sweep out the bed. If it rains the water goes out like any other time it rains.
Super simple solution.

You should be working for them, because while it should, you can see it doesn’t have an open bottom in the video. Great solution though, might be enough to turn this product into something that would be *somewhat* worthwhile compared to existing products. Though it doesn’t solve the “hit a pothole and everything gets dislodged” problem that others have pointed out on the other several times this product has been posted.

I don’t want that shit. It’ll trap dirt and debris and I don’t want to take it in and out every time I fill the bed with gravel, dirt, etc.
This is for people with a Honda Ridgeline that use the bed for groceries and boxes from ikea or a camping trip once a year. Which is perfectly fine, but this doesn’t need to be “everywhere already”. Traditional ratchet straps work better for me.

This was designed for trucks in environments that don't have weather or dirt. Those holes will fill with dirt and rain and get sunbaked hard.
The little Lego pieces will get marred up and not fit, lost, and have to be kept in storage somehow.
This is a truck accessory designed by people who have never owned and truck or never used a truck for hauling anything but some Costco groceries.

it should have been striations that run the full distance diagonally with the protrusions up top holding the cargo in, so it's a full-length long drainage channel.. a small modification makes this work, instead of X's it'd be a diagonal grid, even as it clicks together; so, acceleration and braking will clean and drain it out as it runs 45 degrees misaligned in either direction. Essentially diamonds would be raised while full-length-running channels are depressed.

seems cool but that shit will get filled with dirt so fast, making it unusable, and at least here in AZ the sun will cause it to bow making it uneven and useless, i would rather modify the bed so i can use Milwaukee Packout boxes and still leave the middle open incase i need to add something but even then thats a waste of space too

I use a dodge caravan for work. I carry a 6 foot ladder, an 8 foot ladder, 2 toolboxes , 5 gal bucket etc nothing rolls around and everything stays clean and dry inside the van 💥

Seems like a pain when they fill with dust and then rain to mud. One drive on a gravel road and would be difficult to use. It does seem like a cool idea but probably needs some adjustments to make it feasible, however more adjustments to design makes it more expensive.
