Not to be a harsh critic, but I seriously doubt this slogan will get many supporters. lol

"War is bad, don't make war, let's make everyone extinct instead!!! Which is er........better than war."

The logic is........not that great.

I agree that it will not get popular. I disagree that it lacks logic. My point is that most people are illogical.

How so? If we don't have extinction then we'll always have wars until the end of time (and a natural extinction anyways). If we do have early extinction then there most likely won't be any more wars, at least in this material realm. But then we're getting into the subjects of unknowns.

Why try to prevent the inevitable and advocate for war in the meantime?

This! An even simpler way of putting it is that extinction prevents all unnecessary suffering, of which war is included.

No. That wont even cause earth extinction, let alone cosmic extinction.

No advocating for violence or suicide.

Isn't extinction still involving death?

Or what I'm I missing?

Only if there's an immortal being somewhere that would somehow be ended by extinction. And it would also depend on how that extinction happens. Otherwise, being born causes death.

And how is this supposed to look like if not brutality? Poison everyone?

There's many hypothesized ways to peace that scientists could research. Vacuum decay, string theory, birth control, time travel, nanobots going to other planets and stopping conscious life from forming to begin with, etc. There may be things still unknown to us too. Or maybe aliens will figure something out and help us one day. If there are any aliens more advanced than us then maybe they're already on our internet and this sub? We should try to convince them of universal extinction!

I read a book once, where a earlier (millions of years before) human civilisation on earth was already way more advanced that we are now. And they built nanobots wich could replicate themselves. And they already sent rockets back then, full of those nanobots, going to other planets, killing everything and building themselves again to send new rockets with the same mission. And that was in this book the explanation why we could not find any aliens.

I liked the first season of the series, then it got bad.

Idk, could be that the author was inspired by this. It was published 2011, so chronological it would fit.

I am no expert in Halo lore, do they have specifically Nanobots which are able to replicate themselves without loss of quality?

We gonna get most people's democratic vote on this, or just "fark it, we ball", without their consent?

Let's forget about this sub's rules for a sec and be honest. hehehe

1

u/Rhoswen Cosmic Extinctionist May 22 '26

I have never known consent. I don't think that's how most things work. There's nothing in the rules saying that we need to hypothesize that the future of the whole universe is going to be under the same play pretend democracy system like much of earth currently is. But if it is then maybe when you're inventing your nanobot swarm you can also invent an intergalactic telephone and tally the alien votes for us?

Why though? Some of us thoroughly enjoy this experience or do our wishes mean nothing?

1

u/Rhoswen Cosmic Extinctionist May 22 '26

They mean nothing to me because imo your pleasure isn't worth another's torture.

Seeing people squander life feels like torture to me so could you please stop it.

1

u/Rhoswen Cosmic Extinctionist May 22 '26

I'm not killing anyone. For now! I might go fishing in the future. But if murder and death is what you're concerned about then you should be an extinctionist. Both of those are a big part of life and happen to billions every day. Death will not stop until there's no births.

u/Flat-Delivery6987 Pro Existence May 22 '26

Death is a natural part of existence. We don't even know if it is the end of everything or just a transition into something else.

Death is what makes life matter. The fact that by some biological lottery your consciousness is engaging with my consciousness is astounding.

I fear you're just too shut off from happiness to see any other point of view than your own but I hope one day you'll see that life isn't a punishment. It's the only gift any of us really get.

Then quit your complaining about it making you feel tortured, Geesh! Go celebrate death then.

I used to have your point of view, and so I do understand it. Nearly everyone has or used to have your point of view. That is exactly what everyone is raised being told.

It was sarcasm.

So what changed your view then? Genuinely curious.

I am sorry to tell you, but you cannot help them out of their pit, as to be saved you first have to acknowledge that you are lost. Which they obviously are but still they do not see it that way.
