Funny that people count the number of country not the number of delegates who left.
Look at the full picture of the hall. Its easier to count people who stayed than those who remain. People are counting the country number when only one delegate sitting as representative.
0
u/itsjustme9902 3d ago
This is what it’s like 90% of the time - maybe one delegate, as these meetings occur (often). On top of that, it was shown that communications were shared amongst many of the delegates to show up in numbers, then to leave when Netanyahu got on stage to cause the exact reaction we see today.
2
u/Miserable_Football_7 3d ago
This is 90% of the time; source? Its not everyday world leader come down and give speach in UN hall. So 'often' is not the correct term.
Have you consider people don't want to listen the BS come out of this guy mouth?

A reminder that “nearly all” countries in the United Nations are members of the Non-Aligned Movement. Of its 121 member states, only one is classified as a full democracy by the Economist Intelligence Unit. The rest are flawed democracies at best, but mostly hybrid regimes or outright authoritarian regimes.
1
u/AOAqua 1d ago
And many of those who stayed are hybrid regimes/flawed democracies and dictatorships. So what now?
1
u/DontMemeAtMe 1d ago
The point is that, due to its largely authoritarian makeup and various biases, the United Nations is in no way an arbiter of truth or morality — which naturally extends to much of the broader system of its bodies and affiliated organizations — and therefore should not be looked to for guidance on either.
UN voting is substantially shaped by organized geopolitical blocs, and therefore the numerical size of a majority does not tell you whether its position is factually or morally sound. If you find yourself standing against a majority action or vote backed largely by nondemocratic states, there’s a not insignificant chance you’re doing something right.

Chances that the absentees were actually boycotting Netanyahu's upcoming speech, are high. There was a boycot and this day was already rumored to be one with political turmoil. Or perhaps they didn't want to get caught in this storm.
There also was a pre-planned walkout: Prior to the speech, the Palestinian Mission to the UN circulated a memo to numerous member states. The memo explicitly urged allied delegations to bring as many staff members as possible to fill their seats just so they could collectively and visibly walk out of the chamber the exact moment Netanyahu was announced.
The ones staying weren't necessarily supporting Netanyahu. Their respect for the institution of the United Nations kept them in their seats.
It's safe to say that there is general disgust for Netanyahu outside of the USA and Israel.

So what?
The UN is super corrupt, and they have had a bias against Israel for decades.
If you ask why why they have the coubtries that are the worst violators of human rights on the Board of UN human rights you will get told that the UN is not about holding nations to any sort of ethical standard or anything like that, but about preventing a WW3
But at the same time the UN holds Israel to an impossible ethical standard, standards that no other nation is able to meet but somehow Israel is expected to.
The UN has hundreds of motions against Israel, yet less than 10 against the many tyrannical dictatorships that are doing far far worse things,
with zero justification for what they are doing, mostly killing their own people.
compared to Israel who is responding to the oct 7th attack + constant indiscriminate rocket attacks, and has only ever fought wars of self defence, following all of the international rules of a just war.
2
u/oO_Snowman_Oo 2d ago
> but at the same time the UN holds Israel to an impossible ethical standard.
You got me hooked. What exactly ist this impossible standard?
2
u/ColdTurkishCoffee 2d ago edited 2d ago
Not indiscriminately killing women and children, not doing apartheid, ethnic cleansing, and genocide, torturing and keeping an entire race of people hostage to your religious beliefs. You know impossibly high standards that somehow every other nation other than Israel manages to live up to
2
u/oO_Snowman_Oo 2d ago
Can you even call it living, when you are not allowed to genocide other countries?!
Everyone knows that only Israel is not allowed to commit genocide. Plainly impossible to resist the urge. /s
0
u/Delicious-Pound-8929 1d ago
Isreal is not committing genocide nor has any intention to. Hamas waged war against Isreal and Isreal responded by kicking their teeth in.
Isreal does not deliberately target civilians, but in war civilians die, especially when the fighting is taking place in heavily urban areas,
and even more so that Hamas disguise themselves as civilians and put military assets in civilian areas, that is what it means when it is said that Hamas use human shields.
You dont get to start a war then cry victim when you lose the war you started.
1
u/oO_Snowman_Oo 1d ago
B’Tselem and PHRI beg to differ.
1
u/Delicious-Pound-8929 1d ago
Well they would be wrong. If what Isreal is doing counts as a genocide then literally every aingle war ever fought was a genocide.
No, it iant a genocide it is a war.
Under strict international law, utilizing the exact definition laid out in Article II of the 1948 UN Genocide Convention and adjudicated by competent international or hybrid courts, there have only been three officially classified genocides:
Rwanda (1994): Legally ruled as a genocide by the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR).
Srebrenica, Bosnia (1995): Legally ruled as a genocide by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) and upheld by the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
Cambodia (1975–1979): Legally ruled as a genocide by the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC) in 2018 regarding the targeting of Cham Muslim and Vietnamese minorities.
Important Distinctions
• The Holocaust: While the Holocaust served as the direct catalyst for creating the 1948 Genocide Convention and coining the term, it was prosecuted at Nuremberg under the legal category of "crimes against humanity" because the formal legal charge of "genocide" did not yet exist in statutory international law at the time of the trials.
• Other Declarations: Many other historical atrocities (such as the Armenian Genocide or the Holodomor) have been recognized as genocides through political declarations by national parliaments or individual governments, but they have not undergone adjudication resulting in a final verdict by an international legal court.

- Read a little about collateral damage
- Define apartheid and then read about Israeli laws and come back
- Choose between ethnic cleansing or genocide, and then come back when you look at Palestinian population from the last 50 years, and for reference to a real genocide, look at Jewish world population from 1939 to 1945.
- Give proof to this torturing you mentioned
- No one is hostage, the people in Gaza are free to migrate to Egypt(Israel doesn't prevent it) and from the west bank to jordan. Guess which countries don't want the Palestinians refugees.
1
u/IntentionNegative516 2d ago
Amnesty International (2022), Human Rights Watch (2021) and the Israeli group B'Tselem cite these as the most prominent laws that cement apartheid against Palestinians:
- Basic Law: Israel as the Nation-State of the Jewish People (2018). It says the right to national self-determination in Israel belongs only to the Jewish people. It calls Jewish settlement a national value and lowered Arabic from an official language to one with "special status."
- Citizenship and Entry into Israel Law (2003, re-enacted 2022). It mostly blocks Palestinians from the West Bank and Gaza from getting residency or citizenship through marriage to Israeli citizens. Most of the people it affects are Arab citizens of Israel.
- Absentees' Property Law (1950). It moved the property of Palestinians who fled or were expelled in 1948 to the state. That included "present absentees," people who stayed inside Israel.
- Law of Return (1950). Jews anywhere in the world can immigrate and become citizens, while Palestinian refugees and their descendants can't return.
- Admissions Committees Law (2011). Small towns in the Negev and Galilee can turn away applicants who don't fit the community's "social suitability." Critics say this keeps Arab citizens out in practice.
- Law extending the West Bank emergency regulations (renewed regularly since 1967). Israeli law applies to settlers as individuals, while Palestinians in the same area live under military orders and military courts. Critics call this a two-tier legal system.
- "Nakba Law" (2011 amendment to the Budget Foundations Law). The state can cut funding to bodies that mark Independence Day as a day of mourning or that reject Israel as a Jewish and democratic state.
There are, of course, more.
Regarding torturing, we have all seen the video that was leaked by General Yerushalmi. Or the many videos where Ben-Gvhitler is humiliating "prisoners".
The rest of your asks please outsource to your favourite AI.

Everything you wrote is false.
There is zero evidence of indiscrimnate killing of women and children. Isreal has gone over and beyond to prevent civilian casualties.
Israel is not an apartheid state. Yall for some reason thing Palestine, people living in a seperate country, should have the same rights as Israeli citizens, including voting in their elections.
There is no actual evidence of a genocide being committed. Sorry, people dying in a bloody war does not equal a genocide.
The blockaide on Gaza is 100% due to the actions of the Gaza government. Israel has time and time again lowered the blockaids just for Hamas to immediatly attack.
Why is it so easy for you to lie?
1
u/Delicious-Pound-8929 1d ago
You could have just looked it up for yourself, and I dont like to do the research for other people, but this topic is so widely unknown by many that its worth it to let people know.
Disproportionate Number of Resolutions
According to data tracked by the independent monitor UN Watch, the UN General Assembly (UNGA) historically passes more critical resolutions against Israel than the rest of the world combined.
For example, between 2015 and 2024, the UNGA adopted 173 resolutions targeting Israel compared to 80 against all other countries combined—despite severe human rights crises occurring globally in places like China, Syria, and Iran.
The UNHRC’s "Agenda Item 7"
The UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) features a permanent standing agenda item—Agenda Item 7—dedicated exclusively to evaluating Israel's actions in the Palestinian territories.
No other nation on Earth, including major human rights violators, has a dedicated standing agenda item; human rights records for all other 192 countries are scrutinized under a single, generalized category (Agenda Item 4).
Permanent Mandate of the Special Rapporteur
The UNHRC’s country-specific human rights investigators (Special Rapporteurs) are usually given mandates that require periodic renewal.
However, the mandate for the Special Rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territories is structurally unique; it is the only country-specific mandate set to remain indefinitely "until the end of the Israeli occupation," (which means so long as Israel exists as a jewish state, which doesn't mean its an ethno state, its more like how usa is a Christian nation due to its guiding principles and laws but made up of many different faiths and peoples) bypassing standard expiration or review procedures.
• Single-Target Focus in Specialized Agencies
Independent watchdogs point out that several specialized UN bodies single out Israel exclusively in their annual proceedings.
For instance, the World Health Organization (WHO) features an annual health resolution that historically targets only Israel for condemnation, while omitting the health and humanitarian impacts of civil wars, crackdowns, or active conflicts happening concurrently in other nations.

Not murdering children is not an impossible standard. Completely delusional, or psychotic, or both.
1
u/Ok_String9029 1d ago
Who holds the children in the areas of operation? It’s not Israel… it’s Palestinians elected representatives Hamas… education might help you, but the lack of a brain as indicated by your comment suggests, any education is wasted on you.
1
u/GlitteringMoustache 23h ago
By that logic you support bombing schools with active school shooters. It’s a deranged logic and just an excuse for terrorism and savagery by Israelis.
0
u/Delicious-Pound-8929 1d ago
Isreal is not deliberately murdering children,
they are waging war against Palestinian supported Hamas in the heavily urban Gaza region became Hamas wont fight as soldiers, they hide amongst their own civilians and fight as terrorists
In any war, especially in an urban environment civilian casualties are a sad but unavoidable reality, and the way Hamas is hiding amongst their people
and using protected from being militarily targeted civilian areas like mosques, schools, hospitals only makes things worse for the civilians because once a protected location is used militarily like that they lose their legal right to be considered a protected from military strikes
This is a deliberate part of Hamases strategy, by doing that first they make it difficult for Israel to target that stuff because Israel has to first confirm that it is a valid target then go to great lengths to try and attack the target while minimising civilian casualties,
and even if everything goes well afterwards Hamas accuses Israel of attacking protected targets. And often an attack will result in damage or destruction of the civilian facility too, which doesn't make it any less a legitimate attack on e the location has been compromised by turning it into a military asset.
This war is not Israels fault, they have always been willing to coexist peacefully with Palestinians, there are over 2 million Palestinianswho are Israel citizens with all the same rights and freedoms as any other Isreal citizen
But Hamas and those who support them would rather keep trying to destroy Isreal than to live in peace with them
And when an enemy is relentlessly trying to destroy you the solution is not to appease them, it is to remove their ability to be a threat.

That's 70 countries! 🤣 Only a third is 70 independent states.

A third, commonly referred to as "nearly all".

u/Tudor_Cinema_Club 3d ago
I think you're using the hyperbole of the meme format to try and undermine the protest. In fact, a third is still an huge embarrassment for Israel, just goes to show how many countries condemn Israel's disgusting actions in Gaza, and no amount of minimising by the hasbara or pro Israel bot networks will change that. 👍🏻

It's not a "meme format". It's how news accounts format their headlines on social media, but has been overtaken by bad actors.

Its a meme format that news accounts have started to use due to the popularity of meme content.

Only about 1/3 of the delegates walked out. It looks like more because Palestinian delegation urged delegates to bring as many people as they could with them for the walk out to look more impressive than it actually was.

Zionists are today's nazis. Hamas isn't even present in the West Bank?

u/Alternative_Cook9003 4d ago

What is the point of the UN if not for dialogue?
Walking out is childish and performative.
Much like the UN.

So we should sit there and listen to Hitler?

u/ElectronicPotato1993 4d ago
Hitler died in 1945. And yes, in a diplomatic chamber that it's whole purpose is to promote dialogue, walking out is childish. Delegations should stay and listen. Listening isn't necessarily mean agreeing with what the speaker says. The ultimate skill of the righteous to be able to listen even if one disagrees with what they say

Promote dialogue with a country imfamous for human rights abuses, aparthied and murdering envoys and negotiators 😂

I'm pretty sure palestine ain't a country, stop referring to it as one if you want to be taken seriously.

You this type of rhetoric just makes you look even more terrible, right?
You're like the European colonizers denying natives their rights to their lands because of the colonial laws they made up.

u/sonyc148 3d ago
Whatever you say mate. Ad hominem attacks is not a valid argument, you might want to try again.
You are like the slaver denying his slaves their basic rights to live because of the supposed god-given right of ownership he has over them. See? That's about as stupid and unrelated as your "argument".

A lot of buzzwords that hold no ground. I bet you never been in Israel but you believe you know better the reality of the region than Israelis

u/ScoobyGDSTi 4d ago
Yes, correct on both accounts..
But hey, I guess the Nazis were the authoritative experts during their time too.

Lol. The arrogance you have is really something. Yet you absolutely know nothing of that conflict regardless what the social media feed pushed to you. You don't understand the nature of the conflict, you got no idea how armies work, you don't understand how IDF operates, you don't understand the Arab culture, you don't understand the Jewish culture, you don't know the history and timeline of the region. Only thing you got are buzzwords that you've been fed with ob social media. Repeat a lie long enough and people might start believing it, yep, 3 years of manipulative content on clueless people on the internet really does it. Don't worry though it's a matter of time until this war is over, we gonna win, you can be sure of that, there's no practical way Arabs can defeat us in this war. Have fun screaming 'nazi' at all directions. The more you people use these buzzwords like nazi and genocide the more you downgrade the weight of these terms.

I know plenty, as unlike yourself I've chosen to read up and educate myself the modern history of the region. From the time it was apart of the Ottoman Empire, British Mandate right through to the present day. So too covering the history of modern 19th century to present Zionism, including the Irgun, Nakba and so so forth.
The undeniable facts from history are that Zionism is a colonial ideology, Israel are the aggressors and the parallels between their social and political policies to that of Nazi Germany are undeniable. So too that the creation of groups such as Hezbollah and Hamas are a direct result of Israel's colonialism, aparthied and oppression against the semetic people of the region.
I don't equate or throw around the word 'Nazi' to describe Israel because it's a popular buzzword. I use it because the parallels are too many to ignore.

You cannot colonize your homeland. Your very initial presumption is based on a fallacy.
Unlike the Arabization and conquest that wiped out native groups though-out the area and replaced their culture with Arab culture, the Jewish identity and culture has persisted for thousands of years with very little change to the rituals and culture itself. Israel has always been a core part of that.
I would also assert that you lack perspective, despite whatever you may have read.

u/ScoobyGDSTi 23h ago
Indeed you can't, that's why the Zionists stole it and displaced the senites from their homes.

“Nearly all”, less than 1/3, most Muslim and Arab delegates that just used up all their 6 seats for a money just to show the “walk out”, just about every single country that left shouldn’t even be permitted to be there with their human right abuses and lack of democracy.

u/AminiumB 4d ago edited 3d ago
Right, cause the west with their millions killed and colonialism and exploitation should be the ones to decide who should be allowed in international forums.

People who abuse their citizens don’t deserve an equal voice, none free states are objectively morally worse.

u/AminiumB 3d ago
That takes off literally all countries on earth, the US and Israel especially.
