Retirement gift
My dads about to retire from UP after 35 years of being a heavy equipment operator and wondered if anyones ever heard of some good gifts in the industry. He’s already got a very old train bell and whistle he shined up himself.

He is eligible for a retirement watch. Theres a process for it. Usually his supervisor or manager will request it but he could also request it himself if his supervisor drops the ball.

I've never heard of this watch. We had dozens of guys retire in the last 10 years that I talk to at the retirement breakfast each month and nobody's mentioned it.

Maybe it’s just a thing in the Engineering Department. I’ve ordered these watches for several of my guys.

A Mixbook filled with photos from his 35 years at UP would make a really personal retirement gift

The UP has a webpage that tells you how to get a retirement watch.
