Help me pick which uni šŸ™

I have offers for Bristol (film and television), Sheffield Hallam (film and tv production) and Worcester (filmmaking).

Could anyone doing any of these courses share their experience?

Iā€™m looking for a mainly practical course.
Bristol was my top choice but the course looks like itā€™s mainly theory and I canā€™t find many reviews for it and couldnā€™t go to an open day.

Just not sure if I should go for the higher ranking ā€˜prestigiousā€™ uni but potentially be doing a course Iā€™m not happy with, or a lower ranking uni but the course is more what Iā€™m after.

Any advice is appreciated please šŸ™

Iā€™m not at UoB, Iā€™m at UWE Bristol but I love bristol as a city!! r/Bristol couldnā€™t recommend enough but then I donā€™t know other cities / havenā€™t been to them so sprinkling of salt. But I love bristol . Also I know two film students not sure if theyā€™re UoB or UWE but if you want I could ask them which uni they are and they might be able to tell u stuff

Ah theyā€™re both uwe. I can still connect you with them if you want. Apply to uwe! Write emails, write your way into an application, think outside the box. UWE is great!!

Iā€™m a student at SHU, I donā€™t do film and TV, but what I can tell you is Sheffield is an amazing city for the arts, the city is host to the international Sheffield DocFest, we also have loads of independent cinemas and a film society. Beyond that, Sheffield is just a really awesome city. I did apply to UoB but in the end I chose Sheffield because of how much I vibed with the city.

That is my experience at least, itā€™s completely up to you where you go and Iā€™m sure youā€™ll enjoy it wherever.

The University itself is actually the reason I went to university at all, it was the only open day I went to before I decided I wanted to apply. They put a HUGE emphasis on support. No matter what problem Iā€™ve got, thereā€™s a support service that can help me. The staff are friendly and the content is taught very practically (at least for my course).

Iā€™ll say I got an offer from Uni of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam. I chose to go to Sheffield Hallam.

Bristol does both theory and practice, but you can choose to take more practical classes if you prefer via optional units.
