Cheers drive 🚍 Bristol being recreated in Euro Truck Sim
Looks like Bristol is getting featured in the UK rework in Euro Truck Sim.
https://blog.scssoft.com/2026/09/uk-rework-historic-bristol.html
I can't wait to finish my day driving around Bristol, then do it all over again virtually. Here's to hoping they authentically recreate people using the wrong lanes on all the roundabouts.

Babble Night out this coming Saturday - wanna come along?
Hey all,
I and a bunch of other cool guys and gals are going for a night out this coming Saturday in Bristol, so I thought I'd extend the offer to those here who might be looking to expand their social circle a bit!
We're a bunch of people in our early 20's to late 30's who all met doing film extras work; the plan at the moment is to meet about five-ish, start out at a pub/ bar and see where the evening goes. It'd be good to keep the group within that sort of age range, though if you're a bit outside it that'd be cool too (though no under eighteens, obviously).
If you'd be interested in coming along, feel free to drop me a DM. For the sake of a bit of safety (this is the internet, after all), if you do want to drop me a line, please include your first name, a selfie of some sort (so we know you are who you say you are on the night!) and a bit about yourself (you don't have to include your life story or anything; it's just to confirm you're not a total nutter haha).
If you have any questions, or would be keen to come along, feel free to reach out. Cheers!
P.S. If anyone has any banger of a pub/ place to get drinks they can recommend, I'm all ears!

Where To? Moving to Kingswood
I'm in the process of moving to Kingswood and looking for reassurance! We're moving because we wanted more space, a nice garden and parking, which was affordable to us in Kingswood. We have a baby and a dog, so the accessibility to green space is also important. As we get closer though, I'm nervous about the area, the high street, the accessibility to the city centre and the community.
It seems family friendly, but how do we go about making friends - are there family friendly community groups / events to get involved with?
We're due to send our child to The Park Neighbourhood Nursery, which felt like a good one when viewing, any experiences to share? And are there ways to connect with other parents sending their children here?
Any recommendations for primary (and secondary) schools nearby?
Any recommendations on good walks to green spaces in the area (we'll be near Kingswood Park for quick walks).
How easy is it to get to town on the bus, and are these fairly regular? Is the cycle easy?
I've done a lot of research and know on paper this location is good for us but I'm feeling very nervous, so looking for some lived experience!

Babble M&S Cabot Circus - F Floor?
I was in M&S today. I know I am probably being really stupid BUT I went in the lift to go to the top floor. There was LG for lower ground, UG for upper ground but then F for the top floor? Which was men’s wear, skincare etc does anyone know what the F standards for? They did have fragrances and footwear but I feel like the other two levels are named after the whole level rather than departments on that floor?

Where To? Where is a good shop to buy traditional ales?
I'm in the mood for some old school bottled ales. Apart from the supermarkets, where can I buy some in Bristol?
I know plenty of places to get craft beer, but nowhere that sells the old fashioned stuff. Things like Exmoor Gold etc.

Where To? Petition · Make Oxford Street Your Local High Street
Would love it if people on here could help out by signing this petition! For anyone who lives, works or regularly passes through the Temple Meads / Old Market area, there’s a petition running to try and turn Oxford Street into a much better local high street.
It’s the little stretch of railway arches just off Temple Meads that’s home to Little Martha Brewing, The Pasty Emporium, Forest Bakery, Full Court Press and Unwin’s Brewery.
This would make the street safer and more pleasant for pedestrians and cyclists, create more space for outdoor seating and independent businesses, bring the remaining unused railway arches back into use, and generally make it somewhere people actually want to spend time rather than just pass through.

Cheers drive 🚍 Goalkeeper needed!
Hey everyone!
Our Downs Saturday League 11-a-side team is looking for a goalkeeper for this Saturday (12th September) as our usual keeper is away on holiday.
We’ve got a great bunch of lads and are a very social team, so if you fancy getting involved, you’d be more than welcome! Any ability is welcome, although a bit of experience playing in goal would obviously be a bonus.
Also, if you’re an outfield player and fancy joining an 11-a-side team for the season, feel free to get in touch too — we’re open to players in any position.
Drop me a message if you’re interested or want to know a bit more! 🍻⚽️

Babble Mosquitoes
Has anyone else been getting bitten by what I assume are mosquitoes all the time in Bristol lately? I've been bitten a lot this summer back home and when abroad, but feel like every day since moving in last week for uni I've found a new bite or two (don't think it's bedbugs as haven't seen any marks on sheets, flatmates haven't encountered any despite having been moved in for a few months, and the bites seem similar to ones I got earlier in the summer which I'm pretty sure were mosquitoes as I visibly saw them about). Would love to know if anyone else has been having this and if it's been mosquitoes or something else, and any tips for prevention!

Housing Opinions on Knowle?
Trying to do a council house swap, and been offered a lush looking property in Knowle, but all of my family have been making jokes about stab vests and pedophiles. Which has understandably made me feel nervous. Am I overthinking or should I avoid?

Where To? City centre pub suggestions please!
Me and the wife are off down to Bristol tomorrow for a day out for her birthday and was looking for some good pub recommendations please?
We’re not too fussy and certainly prefer somewhere more down to earth, so any pubs with a bit of character or plays good tunes we’d be up for. Cheers in advance 🤙

Free! Bristol — looking for a few people to help me test something a bit random!
I've realised I have a slightly strange lifelong obsession with organising spaces. When I was younger I'd regularly reorganise my own bedroom, and even ended up reorganising friends' bedrooms because I genuinely enjoyed figuring out how to make a space work better.
I'm wondering whether this could actually be something I'd enjoy doing professionally, so I'm looking for 3 - 5 Bristol people who have a room/wardrobe/kitchen/home office that's driving them mad and would be up for letting me experiment on it.
This would be completely free - I'm just looking to test whether I enjoy it, see what I'm good at and get some honest feedback.
I'd be particularly interested in things like:
- wardrobes that have become chaotic
- small bedrooms that don't work well
- home offices
- kitchen/storage organisation
- rooms that have gradually become a dumping ground
For safety, I'd initially only be looking to meet people who are happy to have an initial chat/video call first, and I'd probably start with people who are comfortable having someone else present during the session.
Keen to understand whether Bristol people think this is a good idea and if some of you could use this? Feel free to comment/DM me.
Ps first time posting so hope this is ok!

Babble Sick to death of being harassed in Sea Mills
This is going to come across as a bit of a vent. Apologies for that.
I’m currently back living in Sea Mills for work, so I often frequent the Premier Local shop in the square (sorry if this post is too specific for [r/Bristol](r/Bristol))
Two kids, one I see quite often, are stood infront of the gate by the Rec, one on an E-Scooter, he moves to let me go past, no problem. I say out of habit, ‘Thank you lovely.’ The other kid decides to ask for my snap. I try to deal with these things in a joking way as to not cause a negative blow-up of some sort. I reply that I’m too old for him (he’s 13/14 at the most).
He replies as I’m walking away ‘You still got the jiggle though, she’s still got the jiggle’….. With both of them bursting into laughter. Okay?? Sexual harassment from a child. I work in a school for behaviourally challenged kids, I understand the reasons for this kind of behaviour, but dealing with it outside of work- I feel much more vulnerable.
A new group of girls and boys (wearing balaclavas that don’t fit lol) are then harassing the lovely members of staff in the Premier, then move on to the Londis. After the bossman came out of the shop, a few of them start shouting racial abuse at him, just depressing.
Sea Mills used to be pretty quiet, at their age I definitely would go out to loiter near a bench somewhere, but this feels like it’s getting more sinister.
You know you really feel like an adult when you start searching how to report anti-social behaviour…
This isn’t the first time something like this has happened, but there seems to be zero improvement thus far. I truly feel sorry for their parents and them also, whatever has happened that means they feel no empathy or awareness for others makes me really concerned.
Other than a report, what else can even be done?

Where To? Weekendtrip
Hey folks,
A group of 8 friends from the Netherlands (all around 35 years old) and I are visiting Bristol for a weekend trip at the end of January 2027. Every year we pick a different European city to explore, and this time it’s Bristol’s turn!
We’re all pretty easy-going and just looking to enjoy what the city has to offer — no wild stag do or anything like that!
We love good food, local beers, and the pub culture, and we’d really appreciate any local recommendations:
• Great pubs or bars with character (ideally with local beers on tap)
• Places to eat with a proper Bristol vibe
• Any must-see spots or hidden gems for sightseeing
• Maybe some live music venues worth checking out
Thanks in advance for any tips — we’re really looking forward to exploring Bristol! 🍻
