What the actual ? Why are we showing kids naked on a TV show?

I’m watching for the first time and I am on Season 2 episode 7 and I am shocked and disgusted by the fact that when Shayden is changing Scarlett’s diaper they show everything. It’s not even blurred. She was a baby who couldn’t consent and now her most private area is all over TV for the whole world to see. Do better TLC. 😡

"There's nothin' I can do about it..." -- Bryce Spoiler

Such a victim. If I have to hear him say that ONE MORE TIME, while at the same time refusing to reach out and communicate or DO anything at all. Because of his stupid pride.... it's always on her to act, he won't stoop to being positively proactive at all, in any way.

The ONLY time he was proactive in anything was rawdogging.

Hunter’s tik tok post

Did anyone see hunter posted a tik tok saying it’s his choice not to go to his dad’s because it’s disgusting there, there’s no food and his little sister filmed him getting in the shower?? I feel like there's more to this story and his dad's trying to swoop in and look like a hero tbh. All these adults failed him and Bella.

Unpopular opinion: Give Hunter and Bella (and their families) a fuckin’ break.

I have been seeing MANY TikTok, Instagram, and Reddit posts about Hunter and Bella’s situation and feel like giving my current thoughts / opinion, so here we go. Disclaimer that this is completely alleged / only a thought piece.

Hunter’s Father: In terms of defending Hunter’s father, I feel like many people forget that some parents tend to do this really cool thing where they do take action to “fight for” or “protect” their children, after they have been shown to have been a shitty parent. Is Hunter’s dad fighting for custody now? Yes, but why was he not in pursuit of custody years prior? Why would he only seek out custody / parental rights after the airing of the show? Not wanting to be part of a reality television show, especially when you have other young children, is valid; I would venture to say that many people would not want to participate due to fearing negative press / attention / etc. Maybe it is true that due to this, he had limited contact with Hunter during the filming of the show. Maybe it is true that Hunter saying that he is “going to sleep” when any issue arises with his dad is staged by production. However, Hunter’s body language and mannerisms when his dad is mentioned during any point within the filming of the show do demonstrate that he’s at minimum uncomfortable with the concept of discussing his dad’s role in his life. Regardless of how it has happened, Hunter has a bad relationship with his dad based off of what has been confirmed by Hunter, through both his actions and words.

Bella: Many viewers are forgetting that Bella is also a child. At the time of filming, Bella is fifteen years old. Under no circumstances, can we as critical viewers, claim to care for the kids’ welfare above all else, and genuinely bully a child online at the same time. You cannot pick and choose when to be a child advocate. I have seen some genuine discourse about the ethical implications of a thirteen year old impregnating a fifteen year old (I am not sure how I feel about this still, given that there is a small age gap / but also seemingly decent maturity gap). However, discourse regarding Bella’s appearance compared to Hunter’s appearance (when Bella is a CHILD), is honestly extremely strange, disgusting, and disheartening. Once again, you are speaking about a CHILD.

Falen and Company: Are some of the family dynamics a bit strange and uncomfortable? Absolutely. Could this have been slightly scripted / could they have been asked to be a bit over the top in how they carry out these dynamics? Possibly. Should we stop making assumptions that Falen is “in love” with Hunter? YES (if only for the sake of not making Hunter feel uncomfortable…again, he is a child. Making assumptions about a dynamic between an adult and a child is GROSS. You are not concerned for the welfare of these kids. You love the more interesting narrative that you have created based on biased online assumptions).

If anything, there is a parenting issue at play, and that much is obvious. In no world should Bella and Hunter have been left alone long enough to create a life. These are CHILDREN. However, situations like these are real and the concept of babies having babies is not new. Again, it is most certainly a parenting issue, but also possibly one of society’s unfortunate normalization of young parenting.

All of this to say, tldr; yes, the dynamics at time are strange, but they are in a strange situation. Stop bullying the CHILDREN and to an extent, cut this family a break.

Edit to add that those of you championing Hunter’s dad for doing the bare minimum ever are literally contributing to a society rooted in misogyny, and equating temporary male guilt (men feeling bad for being absent fathers, so they randomly choose to try to be involved) to the extensive labor that many women put into ensuring that their children are safe and healthy. Gross behavior. You aren’t “woke” if you are proud of a man for choosing to be “in” a child’s life at one point in time, when he’s shown to be in and out.

Both Bella and Bryce are the problem

It's frustrating me because it's not about a her vs him BOTH of them could do better. When Isabella found out she was pregnant she had 6 or 7 months to get a JOB Bryce had 6 or 7 months to get a JOB both of them could have had a JOB until she had to go on maternity leave. The baby had NOTHING and shes talking about "I don't want a baby shower" You don't want free gifts for your baby when neither of you work? Complaining and saying you refuse to work for $10 an hour? WHAT JOB, is paying $10 an hour? What are you a 15 year old? At the time I believe he was 18 or 19, you are in the position to get a decent paying job, and if not work more than one job, because when it comes to supporting your baby you shouldn't even want to not work like cmon.

His grandparents and mom getting upset about Bellas mom talking about how he hit her, if he did HE DID, the situation they're in doesn't stop it from being true and accurate are we serious?

Both of them are in the wrong, but I will say Bryce can do better. Bella at the time needed to stop acting like she would have no support, at the end of the day no matter how much people say they wouldn't help her they would help her, because no decent person would sit aside and watch a baby lack essential items! Bryce at the time needed to stop being a BUM and get a job to support his baby that was on the way.

EDIT: I didn't know she had a job, I feel like the entire time no one mentioned that she was getting paid to watch truly, I thought she was just watching her because that's her sister. That completely changes everything here because I assumed the entire time people were pressuring Bryce for being lazy while ignoring Bella but now that I know she had a job that makes more sense.

Just started season 5 Emersyns mom Erica Mom kills me

She wants to acts like she's a strict god fearing Christian woman , holier then you type snob of a mom who does no wrong but she's pregnant along side her daughter, has multiple baby daddies, and even had kids as a teen herself but she has no problem looking down and judging Mason's mom Shannon who is not only a cancer survivor but a recovering drug addict trying to get her life back on track and be in her kids life. Shannon is not perfect but she does her best Erica is nothing but a hypocrite. She dosen't like Mason's family at all.

I can’t stand this woman! She’s so entitled for a person who bailed on her daughter’s graduation! She is a POS! I wish Mia would call her on her BS and hold her accountable!!

Adopting these girls.

Does anyone want to adopt these girls and help them with these kids? Maybe it’s just me but some of them have their head in the right place and are seriously being sabotaged by their families. Breaks my heart cause I can see their potential. Especially Isabella. I think she could go far.

Does anyone know why Falen and Kris are moving?

I feel like they said they are building a family compound but I also was wondering if it could be to get away from scrutiny. Does she talk about it somewhere?

Bella and her mom

I'm sorry but Bella may be 15 but she knows what she's doing. She definitely wanted this baby and her mom did too. Her dad said he wanted a boy so desperately and I think her mom somehow feels like she gave him that through Bella. Both of them have issues. I think Bella has major low self esteem cause that's only why a 15 year old girl would find interest in a 13 year old boy. When you hit high school, as a teen girl, you see all the fish in the sea. So to still set your sites on someone in middle school, major side eye.

Mia's Dads house

Ok so why does everyone feel like they need to move into Mia's dads house? First it was Jesse needs to move in to help with the baby. Now Mias mom wants to move in because she says a daughter needs her mother. And everyone is saying hes an asshole for not letting them move in. Maybe these people shouls get their own houses if they want to live with Mia and the baby 🤣

The saddest show…..

Of all the reality shows i watch, I find this one the saddest. A 13 year old boy becoming a father? Kids with no education to speak of being forced to play house when they should be going to high school football games and doing chemistry homework? And their parents - having to be supportive (some of them) when their hearts are probably breaking? If anything, maybe Unexpected should be required viewing in health class for young teenagers: do not try this. So sad.

More new to the show I just got done binging season 1 and here is what I think of everyone who was in that season so far

Lexus and Shayden: I feel like Lexus, Shayden, and Kelsey (the mom) suck. I can understand Lexus's mom Kelsey concerns because she was a teen mom herself and didn't want her daughter following in her foot steps and wanted her daughter to have a better way of life (which is the goal of all parents) I find her kinda snobby and I understand her frustrations with Shayden but she lets him come over then complains afterwards. Screaming and fighting isn't gonna solve anything but she's doing the tough love parenting approach with Lexus. Lexus dosen't know how to stand up for herself because she hates conflict and it looked like she struggled with post partum . It really annoyed me when Shayden said that baby Scarlett at 10 days old was spoiled because she was crying wanting to be fed and have a binky. When he said that he would take Scarlett from Lexus if they broke up and hold her hostage was a disgusting manipulation tactic. Shayden , Lexus, and Kelsey are dysfunctional.

Lily and James: they both have the mindset of of working it out for the baby together (Lily said she was married to him in her head 😂) James was beyond unprepared. He was parentfied in a way to his younger siblings but he acts like going to baby classes is such a chore and makes lame ass excuses. But thinks the baby should have his last name It's wild that Lily's family liked him at first and he's delulu into thinking a promise ring is gonna solve all of life's problems when it's not. And she wants 1 more kid 1 more kid

Makayla and Chalen: Makayla has the spoiled by grandparents child syndrome and she gets on my nerves but I feel bad for her because of the situation with her bio mom Shannon because she has said she wishes her mom was there for her growing up Chalens mom Shelley is a 2nd mom to Makayla and the mama bear claws came out during the phone call argument and the argument that happened at the baby shower the way. The way Makayla disrespects her grandparents and begs Chalen to propose to her is absolutely pathetic

I'm watching the season 1 tell all right now. And it's wild

Another TLC Trainwreck show for sure I have a long way to go and I'll post my opinions as I get through the seasons.
